Kosi reported
Moderators: Saintsational Administrators, Saintsational Moderators
Kozi was a touch frustrated from a couple of earlier free kicks against him and had been wrestling with wakelin a bit, he dumped him in an overzealous tackle. Undisciplined and worthy of a free kick, but no way reportable.
I loved it at the time, bring on the rough stuff! but surely no suspension for something like that.

Kosi's peripheral vision has never been good, but he would have needed X-Ray vision in this case to see that the ball had jarred loose.
he'd better not go for that and we should fight it vigorously.
i'd expect that the umpire would withdraw that report on reflection after seeing the replay.
i agree that our defence should be there is no crime against laying a strong tackle when your opponent is in possession of the ball (as kosi clearly believed).
agree with all those who have said that he had no idea that the ball had spilled. Free kick, nothing more. Typical of the way the umpiring has gone that the umpire had to get his head on the TV and report him.....

btw how this can be reported and the brown get away with nothing more then a free for pushing roo (who was out of the contest) into the oncoming pies player. This could cause more injury to the head and shoulder area then the kosi tackle.

good point. never expect anything rational from an umpire (sorry plugger66).Solar wrote:btw how this can be reported and the brown get away with nothing more then a free for pushing roo (who was out of the contest) into the oncoming pies player. I just can't believe it has not been highlighted on the football show this morning. For mine that was the most dangerous thing I have seen for a long time. No reason to do it other then to cause injury to riewoldt. Perhaps I'm a little touchy about roo's shoulders but it was a stupid free to give away and dangerous to boot.bigcarl wrote:good point. never expect anything rational from an umpire (sorry plugger66).Solar wrote:btw how this can be reported and the brown get away with nothing more then a free for pushing roo (who was out of the contest) into the oncoming pies player. Everyone including an ex umpire on the panel this morning believe it was nothing more then a free.

Kosi report
I seem to remember that a tackle like this is how Roo hurt his leg earlier in the season when he was slammed in a tackle after he disposed of the ball - not even a free kick for that one! Several weeks later two very similar incidents, one a report, the other only a passing mention in the media. Where is the consistency!?? Kosi does seem to get the rough end of tribunal decisions tho!

Re: Kosi report
what about the tackle where harvey had his head slammed into the ground? wakelins head never hit the ground and the ball was in his hands when kossi started the tackle- and as goldspink said on SFS, its hard to stop a tackle once it has been started. should be fine if the system is fair.georgie girl wrote:I seem to remember that a tackle like this is how Roo hurt his leg earlier in the season when he was slammed in a tackle after he disposed of the ball - not even a free kick for that one! i saw that wakelin had got rid of the ball
and when koz got reported i thought 'here we go '
but then i saw the footage they showed of the diff angle and he had no vision.
free kick, thats about it
if jude bolton can get off a few weeks ago then surely, SURELY kozi is ok
but we all know what the tribunals like tho...
to say im not nervous would be a fib
