Scott Mclaren - give yourself an uppercut

Post: # 643270Post Sainter_4_life »

Hey we won, no point bagging the umps - but seriously - Mclaren stooped to a new low of corruptness tonight. Some of the decisions he made to gift the pies goals were downright embarrasing.

I actually thought he had a reasonable game last week. But tonight he reconfirmed what I have previously said about him on any number of occasions:

He is the most inept official I have seen in any professional sport.

There are two sides to every story.................. he wouldn't give us any frees on top of the ones he gave them.

He was absolutely disgraceful tonight. The most amazing (non) decision was when BJ was held and slung to the ground at half forward with the maggot right next to him, with no free kick given.

Who was the moronic umpire that blew us a free and called it back just as CJ was running unopposed into the 50, claiming 'no advantage'?
(some may say he knows his footballers well) :?

c'mon plugger - yes regarding umpiring decisions you are often a voice of reason - but it's therapeutic to bag them - helps release some of the tension the "white can'ts'" (aidy mcadams words, not mine) poorer decisions build in us. And there were quite a few!

I just wish our commentators were more open and honest in their appraisal of the umpires - watch a rugby union international and you'll see what i mean.

The problem with him is that he loves being the centre of attention. I'm tipping even his mum hates him.

The Jiggster will know what I mean when I say that McLaren is the Clive Thomas of Australian football.

Clive Thomas disallowed an Everton goal against Liverpool in a cup semi in 1977, and has been hated by Evertonians ever since!

I thought he was great.

Looked as if he enjoyed the win as much as we all did I reckon.

(Cameras caught him stuck in the middle of a hug between two St Kilda players celebrating a goal)

voice of reason??

the guy has never debated the point... is just a sarcastic moron....

The umpiring was very poor but didn't effect the outcome.....

but ignore this thread because according to some we only bitch about the umpires when we lose.......

anyone got any idea what the couple of frees against kosi and roo in the forward pocket were for???

I agree, Dimwit would have much preferred Collingwood versus Hawthorn next week but St Kilda played too well. If McLaren had make it happen it would have been too obvious forcing the press to expose the conspiracy.

That was a joke.

He had the ball 50 out, no one was within 20m of him and the umpire called 'no advantage'.
