I'm pretty sure there were only 20 rounds during the '93 home & away season too (our record was 10 wins, 10 losses).
Anyone know the reason why the AFL made the fixture for just 20 rounds that season?
But we didn't make the eight - Lockett was out most of the year, Nicky took a little holiday, the coach was under more pressure than he could handle and we had our usual luck.
Thirteen wins (out of 20 games) won the flag. The again, Adelaide did that twice out of 22 games. Hope for us yet!
For the first 6 and last 6 games of 93 we were as good as anyone. The middle part (after Nicky walked out) we played as badly as anyone.
We won our first games at Victoria Park and Princes Park in years that season. We were the last team to beat the Cats before the finals (when they were flying).

There were 22 rounds with 2 byes. Not sure why they did it though as the the other three seasons while there were 15 teams had 24 rounds.
1993 was my first season following footy and I've been hooked ever since.
