yeah, they were talking about him as the next plugger, massive massive pistons for arms.

another one was glen coghlan, gave an absolute bath to pebbles and was going to be st kilda's next great CHB :(

and darren bourke, was going to be a 200 game wingman opposite winmar.

and damen shaw, the next great nuggetty midfielder :(

if and buts along the way.

Yes!
Fodey proved to be quite handy up forward in the latter half of that season.
We belted the pussies by about 9 goals :)
pretty Ablett got reported (then rubbed out) for having a go at good ol' Spud.

I remember fans yelling at Ablett saying things like "Hey Gazza, it's bit different when you're not taking on a pizza delivery boy isn't it?!?!"

We kicked 27 goals 15 that day, which for about 10 years remained our second highest score I believe.

What's with the 1993 flashbacks? lol are you watching re-runs of that was the season that was?

Not to be confused with Franky Coghlan the very scrappy mid that had shocking disposal but was an absolute ball magnet.

How good was Skeeter!

Was tempted to transfer #15 on my jumper at one point.

What a day!

Ahhh, one of my favourites.

O'Brien and Fode ran those bastards ragged and Frawley murdered Ablett - who kicked four cheap goals in the last when the game was over.

St Kilda 8.3, 10.8, 20.13, 27.15 (177)
Geelong 3.3, 8.9, 11.13, 15.16 (106)

Harvey, Robert - 39 touches. Freak.

Think Fodey backed it up the week after with another 5-6 against the Roos (may not have been the week after..). Pretty sure he kicked 5-6 points that night too

Fode should've played Soccer. He would've been awesome - that was his background. A wasted talent on the footy field.

Yep him and Jason Traianidis - kicked a soccer-type goal in the 96 Ansett Cup Final against the Bluebaggers if I recall correctly!

Yep, 2.1 - http://stats.rleague.com/afl/stats/game ... 30723.html

That night was famous for Gilbert McAdam lining up on his all conquering brother, and doing an excellent job, too - until Adrian threatened to blow the game apart in the last.

Thankfully we held on with four goals each to Stewie and O'Brien.

Oh that was a brilliant goal !!! Just saw it from about 40 out and half volley it through half way up the big sticks.

My brother kept trying to tell me that it was Jayson Daniels who kicked the goal and i just started laughing at him ... as if jack could be that pin point .. no offence jack

Everitt played that day. I remember the cats running around the boundary with their chests puffed out in the warm up and then the Saints belted them. One out of the box.

Dear Football Gods,

If you can make this to be the scoreline for 2008 GF, I will promise to never swear and blaspheme whilst watching the footy again.

Yours sincerely,

Sainternist 8-)

I remember the size the Fodes legs. They were absolutely massive. Don't remember him having pistons for arms though.. :o

Possibly another player with great skill that St.K didn't put enough time into developing.
I'm hoping that under RL, our player development goes ahead in leaps and bounds.

I mainly remember that flat top hair style he had which Harves also had in his younger years. I wasn't a big fan of his thought he was too unreliable for me .

Like Rod Owen would kick 6 one game and nothing for the next 2 or 3.

Wasn't as tough as Rocket Rod though or as much of a piss head .Could you Imagine Rod Owen playing today with the drinking policies. I used to always see him at the Underground in the middle of the night blind.

Fode was a very handy forward who we insisted in playing at half back.

He didn't have a chance to consolidate as a forward.
