What Scarlett said...
I have it on v. good authority that the end of game confrontation is a bit different to what we al thought.
I don't know what exactly was said during the game but apparently Harvs was bagging Bartel sayig he was overrated etc, and the Geelong players had a crack back at Harvey saying he was too old, standing in the way of younger players etc....all the usual onfield stuff....
But after the game apparently Scarlett ran up to harvs and said
"Are we alright now?",
because the song was playing he thought Harvs hadn't heard and so he yelled it out at him again...at which Harvs said something to the effect of "no we're not" and that was about it.
Apparently Scarlett was non-plussed at Harvs for not shaking hands with him and Harvs was probably put off by Scarlett yelling at him.
All this is from a good source who also said pointed out that they had played in the Aussie team together and were on good terms generally.
Scarlett also pretty much realised that he would never come out o top in a PR contest with #35.

Scarlett will always be bagged because he is a sniping dog.boohoo wrote:Wow. The silence is deafening at the suggestion that St. Robert may have been part of the sledging.
Two sides to the story? who would have thought?
Don't blame the media for beating it up... the crap coming from here and other boards has been far worse than what has come from the papers.
But that wont stop you from raging at Scarlett, will it, cupcakes?
A deadset low life.

Couldn't care less if he has a career ending injury.plugger66 wrote:Wish he played for us.
Dont wish it on him - not even a sniping dog like Scarlett deserves that - but I wouldn't shed any tears for the pr!ck.
Lance or James??

Yes all our players have and are real Saints. I dont care what sort of person we have playing for us as long as we can win a flag. We care more about individuals than the club. The Fireman wrote:the man is a human rat, would you sell yourself that much for a flag?perfectionist wrote:Me too! Only Collingwood and Carlton supporters lower themselves so much to win at any cost.

They did shake hands and then Scarlett said something.
So your good source is down the drain, and we are no closer to knowing what was said by whom, to whom.

"What Scarlett Said"
Sounds like the title of a 19th century novel!!
And, at the end of the day, about as relevant
And, if what Schwartz heard was right (and it sounds plausibke), it was a reasonable sledge (albeit, an extremely ungracious thing to say when shaking hands after a game. The way Harves played on Sunday,he looked well and truly past it
Let's hope he proves Scarlett wrong tomorrow night
I'm sure I'm reading too much into the incident, but I was intrigued that MS still wanted to sledge Harves at a moment which - in the minds of most AFL pundits - was the last time the two will ever face off on the footy field
Does MS actually back the Saints to beat the pies and the hawks and get to the GF? If so, I think he's a shrewd judge. Because I reckon that, if we can beat the Pies (which I'm worried about), I'm confident about beating the Hawks, who IMO have an extremely soft underbelly (similar to us in 2005)
Finally, I really can't understand why anyone on here would want to bag an out and out champion like Scarlett. He's no choirboy, but since when did anyone want to have a choirboy playing in their backline!!

How many time have we heard;
"I HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY"
There would be 10,000 people who could be considered "On Good Authority"
Lets just have a basic look;
44 players on our list..... =44
2 Parents each and lets say 1 sibbling each..... x3
10 friends each..... x 10
10 friends, friends each= x 10
13,200 possibilities.....
And that's just looking at it simply.....

I'm sure you're repeating what your source has been told.fugazi wrote:The source is v.good and they are pretty much MS words...I'm not saying thats what happened, Harvs no doubt has his own recollection, but that is apparently, pretty much MS....the whole story was ready to be written in a column but got pulled at last minute.
The only thing is it doesn't seem to be consistant with the images on the replay.

you got the first bit right....but after the game the long haired git told banger that he should be playing super-rules...and that he had wasted 21 years playing for the saints......now that is from billy brownless and spud.....both of whom had spoken to their contacts....spud of course..wouldn't elaborate but had spoken to banger..
.....scarlett's a turd...but we all knew that anyway......
