Crappy Kick ins after behinds

Post: # 639261Post Saints by 100 »

i think the most glaring weakness in our game over the weekend was the crappy kick ins.
I dont think this was due to the player kicking in, but more so the tactics of the coach and the poor movement of the other players.
Against port , in particular, it was glaringly obvious, that they would kick the ball in, and most times take it to around their 50 metre arc, while we took the easy option of the player in the pocket, stop, and then start again.
Against the Cats, we looked likely to cough up a goal after each point, while they cruised it out, through the centre.
This is a blindingly obvious coaching problem, even mors so than a skills one. you look up from behind the goals as a spectator and think, kick it where?????/

It was horribly slow. Paint-dry slow.

Yet when Geelong kicked out, they took their kick straight away because they had guys running to space, creating options - before our 'zone' kicked in.

We took it slow, weighed it up, and more often than not, bombed it crappily to nowhere.

Really shoddy - put so much pressure on our defenders.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

They also seem to then kick it back to whoever is in the goal square rather than looking for an option further up the field.
