10 - 6 to Geelong.

Need to stick tackles or we will get pumped.

10 - 7 Cats way.

Possessions: 201 - 146 Geelong's way so a +3 Free Kick count is not unexpected.

Possessions 201 - 147.

They're on target again for their benchmark

Gotta get off this forum.

Watching a P2P stream from France which is coming from the US and the forum is about 3 minutes before I get the vision so I am sitting here waiting for X to goal for a couple of minutes :-)

To get the point.

This is absolutley s***.

We're kicking to volt to often who has 15 geelong players on him.

WE'RE NOT HOLDING THE TACKLES.

Not enough players are willing to die for the team.

We need a huge second half.

32 pts down at half time. Not looking good. Bartel on track for 40 possessions, and no semblance of a forward structure. Roo having an off day, and not sticking tackles. Pies at the G next week looking more and more likely.

We could be doing much better, that's the point. Some silly things happening. We should only be 2 goals down imo.

The Saints have gone back in their shell, playing reactionary football to gellong. We are looking for "safe" passes rather than hard running forward movements. The thing that impresses me about the pussies is in contested situations we are happy to get a stoppage ball up, they keep the ball alive & steal possession at all costs.

That has been the story for a lot of games this year. Geelong are not Freo, Essendon or Adelaide.

We just need to have one of "those halves" we've become accustomed to in the second half of the season.

It can happen, trust me...

We aren't playing badly. Our intensity is right up there, and skills aren't too bad considering the slippery weather.

But Geelong are just so good...

Harvey is standing up. This is where we miss guys like Thompson and Peckett - we are lacking in experience.

The distrubing thing is that we are 51 possessions down at half time. That is the equivalent of 4 or 5 extra midfielders. They have had 17 scroing shots. We've had 5!

Their midfield is running riot - no wonder we don't look like it ! Any chance we could just shut down a couple of their guns - a better defensive (forwards and midfielders) effort this final might see us get some credibility back.
Would Birss been worse  than Mini ? Hmmmm

there isn't much we can do they are dominant and we cannot hold a tackle. stoppages are embarrasing they just walk it away

Is Mini running with someone?

Has he been given a shut down role?

They're awsome through the midfield - we cannot get a tackle to stick.

Considering the amount of inside 50's they've had it is amazing we aren't further behind.

Even when we hold them for a time - we seem to concentrate so much on this that we do not look like scoring ourselves. An opputunistic snap from Milne, a free kick from X and a good mark from Schneider is simply not good enough.

I would clear out deep in the atacking 50 leaving Roo and Milne/Schneids there and try to form a wall across the centre of the ground. The way Geelong are pushing back to double/triple team our talls mean we have no hope. (If it were Sydney or Saints doing this they would call it flooding). Then bottle up the middle of the gound.

Hopefully we could get some running goals from on 50 then. Otherwise it's the pies next week.
