Mcqualter will be in to try and tag Ablett I think.
Huge task but could be the making of the man.
Finals footy is the chance to make a serious name for yourself.
We don't really have the ideal replacement for Dempster so McQ could be the key if he can tag and negate midfield pressure and thus relieving pressure in our backline.
Hopefully he'll be as cool in a crisis as Steve McQ in Bullitt

A brave game from McQualter will no longer be acceptable. He will actually have to genuinely nullify one of their midfielders/forwards to hold his place.
Would much rather have Birss in the side over a couple who are in. I'm not sure he has the full support of the team. Noticed one of his kicks inside 50 which was knocked out of bounds on the weekend was howled down by Riewoldt and others in the forward line.

Gawd, and some people think I'm too hard on Ross Lyon.....
X is clearly fit enough now, and he is so in our top 22.
Mini was one of the key contributors to our turn around in form mid-season. He missed two games through illness and is now better.
This is a completely justifiable decision on the part of Lyon and the selectors.
People should get over it.

Strange call, seeing how he smashed Van Berlo in a defensive roll, a couple of weeks ago...Bernard Shakey wrote:Mini and X are good ins.
Birss' defensive side not as good as either.
For mine X will get Steve Johnson, Mini one of the mids.

mini is more a hard tagger while birss looks to run with and hurt on the other way.
Mini has shown he can shut down fast skilled midfielders of the ilk of brent harvey so I back him to shut ablett down.

What are you people doing to me. I am now down to having to quote and support Plungerplugger66 wrote:We clearly know more than RL because we obviously know who everyone is playing on.
This isn't about rating one player against another and who you think is better, it's about who is best suited to the role the coach has in mind for the strategy and structure he wants to employ.
As we are not privvy to this information, then we are hardly in the position to criticise his choices, are we?? Unless some of you recently coached a team to a place on the AFL ladder higher than 4th?
