One win away from a home final
With Collingwood going down, one more win guarantees us sixth spot and a "home" final against Swans or Pies.
If Adelaide or North lose we finish fifth and still play Pies or Swans or Crows.
If Crows AND roos lose we finish fourth and play Cats.
I don't want to think about what will happen if we lose.

Re: One win away from a home final
If every top side wins we could play the pies at the G on Sunday is my guess. That was what a lot wanted but they thought we would be 8th not 5th. I still think we will finish 6th and play Collingwood or Sydney.my les foote wrote:With Collingwood going down, one more win guarantees us sixth spot and a "home" final against Swans or Pies.

A chance of a TD final too!!
If there are 4 finals in Melbourne the game that involves an Interstate side and NOT Collingwood will get the Dome..and that very well could be us v Adelaide or us v Sydney
If that happens we will be playing Sat night however, as they cant play 3 consecutive gamest the G..the TD will need to be Sat night to break it up
If we play Collingwood, would almost certainly be Sat night at the G. I can hear Channel 10 drooling from here

This means no interstate final for us, at all no matter how far we go.

IF we get collingwood I for one AM SICK of getting Colllingwood on the rebound only to bend over and allow Malthouse and that pack of a shyte side to overrun us - wesimply HAVE to stand up now...geezus weve lost twice to them already by small margins which is bad enough...SURELY the REAL St Kilda will finally come to play Collinwgood and actually apply some pressure????

bloody afl have us by the short and curleys - it's not like we can boycott the game!Teflon wrote:it will be at g if its Pies.desertsaint wrote:if we play collingwood as the higher ranked team don't we get the dome as our home ground - or do all rules go out the window when the pies are involved (silly question)?
The "AFL economic rules" are enforced in that event.

Re: One win away from a home final
Excellent Was out last night and was great to wake up to news of the pies' loss. The above scenarios are all fine by me. Each and every one has upside to it. Just gotta win.my les foote wrote:With Collingwood going down, one more win guarantees us sixth spot and a "home" final against Swans or Pies.

if we lose to essendon we've really no business being in the finals. going on what i saw last week, we'll win and win well.my les foote wrote:I don't want to think about what will happen if we lose.
sure, they'll have something to play for in seeing off rama etc, but let's not forget that the stakes are high for us as well.
collingwood at the mcg would be a great challenge and a chance to atone for two miserable and depressing performances against them this year.
if it happens i hope we tear them a new one.
mcg, collingwood, finals, the harvey factor ... they don't come much bigger.

Well at least it shows that we have the most altruistic supporters - happy to throw away the home advantage in a final just to allow an extra 40,000 maniacal pie fans to inspire their team and influence the umps!
