MCG or TD - where would you prefer we play a home elim final
IF we get a home elim final, in all likelihood that would mean 4 matches in Melbourne in the first week.
If we assume 3 games at the MCG and 1 at TD, then the 1 TD game would have to be on Saturday.
So.....
Assuming the home elim final we play would be against either ADL or SYD, we could fit everyone into TD (just!), although it would shaft MCC members (me!) by forcing us to buy a ticket or not go.
So......
In order to get maximum home ground advantage (ie. TD final), we'd be stuck we a 6 day break.
What would you prefer
A 6 day break and a home final at TD
OR.....
A 7 day break (playing on Sunday) at the MCG????

yeah I see your point, but if our club really wants to play at TD for a home final, for instance, we can advise the AFL of our wish, and that we don't mind a 6 day break...iwantmeseats wrote:s***, jumping the gun there friend, Ill settle for a home final, as there is a real danger we wont have one! Ill thank my lucky stars for either the dome or the G!
....and they'll take the advice on board and make us play at the G
Unfortunately have to factor in what Channel 10 want also..and that could mean a choice of Sat arvo at the Dome or Sunday arvo at the G..and if we play Adelaide Sat arvo that gives them 2 extra days to prepare
I cant see CH 10 wanting Saints v Adelaide/Syd on Sat night primetime if Coll v Gee is up for grabs

To be honest i would rather the G!
The big finals are played there and i fear that if we were to - big IF cos we still have to get a home final - have the first final at the dome then it may impact on our running if we made it to the second week which would certainly be held at the G
Great chance to fill the G and make it tough for any team esp Sydney or the Crows!!!!

I think Geel v Coll will be the series game and played on the Saturday afternoon !!saint66au wrote:Unfortunately have to factor in what Channel 10 want also..and that could mean a choice of Sat arvo at the Dome or Sunday arvo at the G..and if we play Adelaide Sat arvo that gives them 2 extra days to prepare

Heard Dwayne Russell's commentary last night and he stated that the Hawthorn/W. Bulldogs final will be played on the Friday Night.
I would be keeping Saturday week free everyone, whether we play in Melbourne or Adelaide!
Most likely senario (If favourites were to win):
Friday Night: Haw V WB, MCG (Ch 7)
Saturday: Coll V Adel, MCG (Ch 10)
Saturday Night: St. K V Syd, TD (Ch 10)
Sunday: Geel V NM, MCG (Ch 7)

Also Sydney is competiting with Rugby League, Fridays and Sundays wouldnt be a popular timeslot to feature Sydney playing.
The advantage of TD is the roof, so if there's bad weather it wont affect the crowd.
Personally, the MCG would be better for us. We have only played there twice this year, we need more practice. But if we have a heads up at the Dome then we may as well use it to our advantage
