The Goose
Goose has played 99 games for us, a lot of injuries. Where does he fit in 2009 for us?
Upside: Is a lot
Downside: May never come back and be wasted on the list.
I think we should keep him on the list for another year. What does everyone else think?

He's a man mountain. To be honest i think his time as a defender may have passed him,I doubt he'll have much leg speed left.
I'd like them to have a crack at making him a project player as a power forward. He's strong, has good hands, and is a pumping kick. I think he has potential for us as a full forward.

If we can find a KP defender at seasons end - either through the draft or a trade - then definitely, otherwise we may have no choice than to keep Goose as a defender.

when he was tried in the forward half he was horribly out of form...so maybe an indication to his forward attributes could be when he gets fully fit, confident and his some good lead up form under his beltThe Saintsational Man wrote:We tried him up forward a few times, didn't really have a great kick for goal on him.jonesy wrote:I think he has potential for us as a full forward.
My dad called it early, but I never agreed till recently.....
Gwilt may be our future @ full forward.
then we can all judge properly

I recall a few years back he got of to a sluggish start because he bulked up. Then as he lost weight he ran into form... 05 I think.
The changing nature of the game means that fwd's are more mobile, and the day of Gorilla FB v Gorilla FF are over.
So a lighter, leaner Goose may still have a role to play. Let's see how he recovers 1st.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

agree, full foward would be a good future position for him, if he can get back.
does anybody know anything about the work he has had done on his foot/leg since round 7? he mentioned on the radio that he'd be looking into different forms of alternative treatments such as stem cell treatments yet havent heard anything about it since.
