The cheer squad did a fantastic job on the banner.
The past players filed out and formed a guard of honour.
The scoreboard played 'The Saints are Coming'
Nick led the team out on to the ground and they lined up between teh past players and the banner.
Harves came out with his kids (holding one) and ran through the banner.
Prior to this they showed a highlight package (to the tune of thanks for the memories)
They then showed vision on the big screens of the name change to Telstra Dome (for today) - The Robert Harvey Stadium
Then they unfurled a giant banner covering one of the 'Nylex boxes' which depicted the back of a Saints guernsy numbered 35.
All in all a very good package in keeping with the man they were honouring.

Yep...agreed it was all very well done..althought I thought the video packages kind of came and went in the background somewhat.
Did anyone get a pic of the banner outside the stadium? ..I was in the twilight zone obviosuly when i walked in and didnt see it
Missed ya today Fid..however your young fella would have been sitting next to Crows fans as it turned out. Gotta work out a way so that only Saints fans can book the spare yearly reserved seats allocation up on the MW..might make it a project for 09
They knew their place tho...didnt hear a peep out of them after quarter time

Yeah I wished I could have been there, maybe those seats will be used up for members wanting reserved seats next year
Anyway I will catch you next year...
I hope Foxtel covers the Harvey tribute, but I somehow doubt it, I will wait and see on Wednesday

I got up the goat of one them in the last quarter....the poor sod I guess was pretty pissed off at his pathetic lame and listless team, and must've been thinking about how Adelaide will bomb out of the finals to us in a fortnight (venue to be determined!!!)saint66au wrote:

haha i was sitting next to two crows who were booing and saying nasty things about roo and harvs which was disrespectful and so i thought i scream in their ears "go nick" and then that certainly shut them up for the rest of the game since i was screaming a fair bit after each goal to rub it in after what they started ... i ended it!! yep go back to adelaide you rotten supporters!saintspremiers wrote:I got up the goat of one them in the last quarter....the poor sod I guess was pretty pissed off at his pathetic lame and listless team, and must've been thinking about how Adelaide will bomb out of the finals to us in a fortnight (venue to be determined!!!)saint66au wrote:

overview of the day from Hrald Sun
http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/ ... 42,00.html
Harvey is God among St Kilda fans.
For the rest of us he is a living monument of greatness.
And if champions such as James Hird and Nathan Buckley are staggered by Harvey's 21-year career, what are the right words to describe Harvey the footballer and his contribution to St Kilda and to football itself.
It is difficult, to say the least, and that's why yesterday was more about a thank-you, a big, heart-warming, lucky-to-be-there thank-you for a player who made Saints fans proud through the dark times and the good. >>>>>>>>>.........

Brilliant photos Cheers.
Yeah it was all really good but the video tribute that they had I wished they didn't have that sad music with it made me get very depressed and a little teary to say the lest.
