Getting Way Ahead Of Myself

Post: # 627445Post gooner »

Just been having a look at the possible outcomes from next week.

Assuming we win, North wins, Collingwood wins, Adelaide loses and Sydney wins (most likely scenario) means we play Sydney at home. Then Hawks or Doggies. Then Geelong in PF. If Sydney lose we play Adelaide at home then etc etc. Not Good.

If North lose then we play Sydney or Adelaide at home then meet the Magpies in the semis and then Hawthorn in the PF.

If Adelaide wins and Collingwood win we play the Crows at AAMI then the doggies, then Geelong. Not Good. Adelaide win, Collingwood lose then substitute Sydney for Adelaide.

BUT......

If Collingwood lose, North win, Sydney win and Adelaide lose which is very possible then

We play

Adelaide at home (a replay of today)

North (who we know we can beat)

Hawthorn (who we know we can beat)

Before losing to Geelong in the Grand Final

:(

OK, I'm going a bit crazy but the point is next weekend will be fascinating.
I mean, we could still finish 4th!

if we were to somehow make it to the gf (we won't but hey it sounds good)

i would expect our boys to get as physical and cross the line as much as possible to attempt to win, obviously going for the ball not the man however when the opportunity presents go for it

it would be worth the suspensions

I think the emotion of a gf and the saints crowd being in a grand final would be so overwhelming!! We would have a fair bit of pity support from the crowd and commentators.

Best scenario last one- except whenever the magpies have it in their hand to do something good for us- they always do the opposite!! Can't trust them!

True, with no send off rule like in the Soccer, I think these guys would def take 6-8 weeks off in 09 just to get over the line.

I dont think many people could actually go out and seriously try to hurt someone like that though...Get King to run through a few of his ex team mates!

There's no denying, we're in the hunt.

And the attitude with Geelong has to be "if it bleeds we can kill it it...."
