Yes the back 6 were great today, but the crows dont have much of a forward line.
The back 6 have to lift during the final series when they come up against a good forward line

Gilbert's best game of the season.

By far.

i saw SOS out there addressing them at three quarter time and thought, he's done a good job with these guys today.

they performed a total shutdown of the crows in the second half. they can't have kicked more than two or three after half time.

Some of the spoiling today was fantastic but Adelaide's forward line was pretty ordinary...

What I just realised is that there really aren't any great forward lines in the finals this year with the possible exception of Hawthorn... if we could just pick up in the midfield (which Ball will help very much with ) we should be very competative...

They wre absouloutly brilliant.

The marks the crows took inside their foward 50 you could count on 1 hand.

*Fisher - Great run through the middle and his marking and pressure was top notch.

*Goddard - One of the best games i have seen him play, marked marks nobody woukld contimplate taking absoloute team player.

*Hudghton - Meagre ... but what do we expect from him  Holding the League's greatest fowards to meagre scores and makes the look amatuer.

*Blake - Mr Fix-It ... :D Drifted up foward, came down back ... Where ever he was, he was brilliant.

*Dempster - Great last week, great this week. Put his body on the line and played great level headed footy today.

*Gilbert - IMO we kept today's best backman till last. Tackled brilliantly, broke tackles with ease and that spoil he made on Douglas ... well top notch

Great stuff boys .. keep it up going into the finals.

And when you consider that, at the 12 minute mark of the 1st quarter, Adelaide was 3.3.21 to 0.2.2 and after that we outscored them 13 goals to 3 that's a pretty good defensive effort.
