Win tomorrow and its finals time!!!!
With Carlton beating Brisane tonight, a Saints win tomorrow will finalise the Top 8 teams, unless Richmond win and Sydney lost their respective Round 22 games by a gazillion points
Cmon boys...sooooo much to play for tomorrow!!!!!

We win, we're in - and a fair stab at 5th or 6th position and a home final in week one, followed by a Melbourne final in week two, three and four.
We lose, we're sucked back to the depths of possibly missing out completely.
No two ways about it, we simply have to win. We squibbed against West Coast last year in an identical position; there must be no excuses for doing the same thing tomorrow.
I've got a bad feeling that the Crows' good form means our immediate future will be resolved next Sunday night against Essendon instead.
I sincerely hope it isn't the case.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

there is one thing I have learnt from being a st kilda supporter- planning ahead is dangerous i refuse to get excited about the possibility of finals until its 100% certain
however, as you said, there is a massive opportunity up for grabs for these boys tomorrow and hopefully they make the most of it. for once, results have actually started to fall our way and we are a legit chance to make the finals -- i just hope they dont dissapoint. our best is better than adelaide, we just need to play as a team and take the 4 points and hopefully all these celebrations for harvey spur them!

It doesn't really matter.degruch wrote:Eeek...don't fancy hanging on Melbourne to beat Richmond for our spot in the top8, should we blow it tomorrow! But, I can't imagine anyone in the St Kilda team not putting in 120% against the Crows, if we do blow, we will have been beaten by a better team.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, but honestly, if we lose to Essendon - there is no point in making finals.

Adelaide will be a tough assignment but it will get alot tougher if we make it through to the finals. I personally think we can win both of the remaining home & away games but we need to put our season into perspective, we have improved (marginally)but to give ourselves a good shot at a flag we need to finish top 4 & not have to be worrying about beating sides that carnt make it or teams losing to allow us to fall into the 8. In saying that if we can get some momentum by winning the next couple of games we could cause some headaches but very hard to do it from 6th, 7th or 8th .

I looked at the predictor and I have us finishing seventh if we win both games and having to play Adelaide in Adelaide.
Coming into the final Sunday and knowing we were safe in the 8, a loss guaranteeing a final in Melbourne against the Pies would not be such a bad thing.
For what it's worth, my tipping is rubbish, here is my ladder
1 Geelong 159.79 84
2 Hawthorn 126.39 68
3 W Bulldogs 118.77 62
4 Nth Melb 101.56 54
5 Collingwood 113.22 52
6 Adelaide 110.67 52
7 St Kilda 104.36 52
8 Sydney 109.10 50
9 Richmond 94.83 46
