I agree about Hayes, but other teams/"experts" don't seem to drool over him like they do the "superstars", Riewoldt, Pavlich, Brown, etc...Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:rooey, maybe s fish??? hayes to the football literate
Kosi could start putting a few quarters together. forget seasons.battye wrote:Undisputed, universally they are recognised:
Kosi or Dal Santo could still make it if they were to string together a few fantastic seasons... Kosi in particular, I think with a bit of injury luck, could become one the clubs greats.

me too. i haven't given up on him. has the talent to be in the game's elite and it is entirely up to him if he wants to realise it.Ghost Like wrote:I also have some blind faith in that Dal will realise his potential and take on some responsibility now the Great Man's retiring.
ball and max are great players but not stars. lets be fair. its riewoldt then daylight.Bernard Shakey wrote:What is a superstar?
I heard some knob at the olympics referring to Marty Pask as an AFL superstar.
Superstar, Supermodel, Champion?
What happened to stars and ordinary players?
Are any shielas these days just models?
Having got that off my chest, Harvey and Riewoldt are superstars.
Lenny, Ball and Max are stars.
Harvs, Roo, Lenny and Bakes are champions, because they have won the club championship.
The rest are footballers of varying abilities.
I believe that once you attain "superstar" status (for an extended period of time, I don't think Woewodin would count), you hold on to it for your entire career. And for that reason I think Robert Harvey is without question a superstar of the competition.markinUSA wrote:A "superstar" is probably someone who is in the top 5 (maaaaybe, if you stretch it, top 10) players in the comp. That means many clubs wouldn't have one superstar. We'd have one, Nick.
We have some players who have made terrific contributions - Harves was a superstar for many years, and although he's still amazing, he's not the player he once was (percentage of game time is one indicator of that).
They would this year.....but, would they have last year?battye wrote:Using The Saintsational Man logic, most would pay to watch Harvey play.
Definitely agree - which is why omissions of players like McLeod and Goodes is confusing, and Cooney is no superstar (but could go on). Buddy is a star and should go on. Richo is a star but won't!battye wrote:

It was just a list of the players that I would pay to see play and thus falls into my opinion, yeah I guess you could be right about Cooney, but McLeod is way past his best and I wouldn't play to see Goodes play, dirty sniper.desertsaint wrote:Definitely agree - which is why omissions of players like McLeod and Goodes is confusing, and Cooney is no superstar (but could go on).
