Without doubt for me it would be Usain Bolt, 6 foot 5 and runs the 100 and 200 faster than anyone else.

If this guy was able to pick up the game, forget Buddy, Ablett, he would be a sensation.
Well he just won the 200m in World Record Time....

So welcome also to the Wold's newst multi-millionarre!!!

However I not that Max Markson reckons that Phelps haul will see him a Billionarre by the time he retires!!!!!
Max Markson is full of crap. Yanks dont give a darn about swimming. as good as phelps is he will never be in the league of tiger woods or dozens more in basketball or other sports.

You could forget about Jonathon Brown!!
Brown is 196 and 102.

Bernard is 195 and 84 - he weighs the same as Armo. Do ya reckon he might get pushed out of contests a bit easily?

I am not defending the size of Markson's guestimate...or spintimate!!!

But Phelps will makea lot of money from world-wide endorsements.

For example the Thorpedeo was huge in Japan.

Also with Phelp's he has two "brands" that can be exploited
*greatest ever swimmer

BUT also

*greatest ever Olympian

Which takes his appeal to a lot more than swimmers, and to a wider audience that the USA market...even if yanks are not well regarded worldwide.

Nike etc are also not headquartered in the USA.

I'd be happy to take almost any one of these:

Tall, athletic, good jumping ability, star power, fitting into tight AFL shorts doesn't seem like it will be an issue.

Can't believe I have to wait four more years to see my new favourite sporting team (ok i meant 2nd favourite... behind the saints of course :D ).
