The Point of It All

Post: # 625333Post Superboot »

I have a contact in the book industry, and those with a copy of this book may be interested to know that it's now valued at about $400.

I assume there must have been a limited number printed.

I would say it is worth $81.00 because thats what it sold for on E-bay on 13th August 2008. It will be pushed up in price if you all start talking $400.00

My recollections is that there are two different books. One is a limited addition leather bound volume whilst the other is just a normal book.

(My Brother has Leather bound #66)

Whatever version you have it's a great read nonetheless.

I was very lucky to get my Dad to go to the launch with me when I was younger, and was lucky enough to get Gary "The Cat" Colling's and Russell Holmesby's (btw where is loco_saint these days? ) autographs.

Reading through it, there is no doubt our Club has had more uprisings than Fiji and the Solomon Islands put together.

Also enforces how much we love our heroes through the ages too!

We all know that Russell Holmesby was one of two authors, the other one being Jules Feldmann.
Around 1999-1991 I found myself sitting next to a rather quiet elderly gentleman in the reserved seat area at Moorabbin and we got talking one day and he told me he was helping to write a book about the Saints as he had been barracking for them since he was about 6 years of age which by calculations would have been around the end of World War 1!
It is to my eternal regret that I didn't attend the launch of "The Point of it All" as my companion was Jules Feldmann. Sadly he died not long after the book launch.
Did anyone else ever meet Jules and would like to share any stories about him?
