We've got to keep Harvs at St Kilda...
Was very impressed with his performance on Footy Classified. Intelligent, considered and you can tell he thinks about the game a lot.
I'd make it a matter of urgency that we hire him as a midfield coach or some other role like youth development.
Was rerally interested to hear him say he loves to work with younger players.
We must snap him up, because as sure as the pope is catholic some other club will snap him up!!
Any thoughts people?

It does people good to get away from the womb, take on fresh ideas etc. Doesn't mean he is not a Saint. Ya reckon Silvagni is a Saint just cos he is currently with us? Not a chance. I would be happy for Harves to do a short stint elsewhere before returning to the fold.

Who knows. He only knows one way,and that's our way. 21 years at the one place,he might find it beneficial to see how other clubs go about there business, he might think it will improve his knowledge and thinking of the game.
Having said that the man is another level beyond anyone else when it comes to gut running and giving there all. I can't remeber which former gun pro golfer who once said "why would I need a coach when they can't beat me,find someone who can beat me then they can be my coach!".
That could also be said for Harvs, there has been no better midfielder for being so mentally tough and gut running in at least the last 20 years. When he speaks you'd listen to him.....keep him at Moorabbin!

Bring back the Lockett era
How about the new StKFC Senior coach for 2009 onwards
No prior coaching experience is not a problem. Its Harv's we are talking about and at last we would have a coach that loves our club.
Also everyone on this forum would love the coach and it would be a much happier place
Plus Westaway would get his 10 year man

nah, let him go to Carlton, learn the trade as an assistant, but at the same time he could make a few "mistakes" that stuff up their club long termSt Marcus wrote:How about the new StKFC Senior coach for 2009 onwards

maybe connected to Saints VFL affiliate and thus involved with the Young saints.
the rumours and questions about where he will play have begun
training with seaford
Dromana have called
as the Guys on FC said- imagine a young guy going home after a game and saying-' I played on Robert Harvey today"
or I played with Robert Harvey.

From his FC interview it sounds like he might enjoy working as a Development Coach.
I can't imagine a better role model for younger players.
...and what young player would not want to working witha player who has played almost 400 games as an elite player...with two Brownlows to boot.
