ross is contracted until the end of next season and i'd expect him to see out his contract.

however if it does become apparent that he is not the man to take us forward then i'd be looking at a passionate ST KILDA man.

nathan burke? aussie jones? grant thomas?

Thats all we need to untried coaches and one that has been sacked.

Not sure if I'd call Aussie untried.

Burkie getting the job wouldn't be a good look either. I think we've had enough of board members becoming the coach.

True but as JD pointed out Burkie is a board member and also quit as an assistant so not sure his heart is in it. Aussie well he quit as a player because he was sick of the pressure, could you imagine the pressure as a Saints coach. Gt well he should still be coaching but he is gone.

Surely we have history in sacking coaches. Then so has Richmond, and even Hawthorn had a few changes recently.

The question is - should a coach, who clearly has no motivation skills and a big question mark over his coaching ability, stay simply because we have a bad history with coaches. Is two years with little signs of improvement - actually more going backwards - long enough, or should he see out his contract? Shouldn’t the club keep searching for coaches until they find the right one?

IMO I think he’ll see out his contract, but how many more members can we lose (and lose we will) before the collection tins start rattling again? I think we were already the only club (not counting the ones who get hand-outs from the AFL)that posted a minor loss last year, and I’m not at all confident that we’ll be posting a profit this year

Also if Rix goes he could be the ruck coach.

GT couldn't coach and had no plan B. There was no way he would've taken us to the next level IMSASO

Never say never, my friend. Otherwise, why bother turning up?

that's the problem, isn't it. too many games in which we haven't turned up.

hrmmm

aussie jones . seriously great player but coaching a country team really doesnt mean squat when it comes to the big time

Burkie : yeah casue the last time a board member fired a bloke to take up the role went down really well

GT : god help us his ego was a proble at the staart could you imagine after we payed him out for us to crawl back ... it would be a cold day in hell befor that transpires

Hammil : good player but how do you know he can coach ? Watson was a good player also ...

seriously look at our history do we really think sacking the coach will put us ahead ??
