Should we play Gehrig?
If Reiwoldt has to miss due to hand injury (probably not) - should we put in G Train? Could anything be worse than our last 3 weeks at kicking a big score? We probably won't have any major part to play in the finals (if we make it) - so if his body is feeling ok do we chuck him in for last free games? I'm inclined to say 'why not'? Other thoughts?

Re: Should we play Gehrig?
Riewoldt is our only option up forward really. Milne was against three, Kosi was nowhere to be seen.Newman wrote:If Reiwoldt has to miss due to hand injury (probably not) - should we put in G Train? Leaving Gehrig in the goal square might not be such a bad option, he'd take a key defender, and at least when we flood, we'd have someone in the forward half of the ground.

Hi Newman,
Nice to see you again.
I haven't seen the game yet - but I came on here a few years ago, and after reading everyone's comments, I wondered exactly the same thing.
I'll watch the game later in the week. Then I might have a more informed perspective.

i'd play dal santo at half forward alongside riewoldt and bj at ff.
we've suffered all season in not being able to kick winning scores and though the forward structure hasn't always been to blame it certainly is a factor.

Yep. Let him play in Harveys last game. Pity it won't be in the finals. Kosi in the last few weeks has been worse than G-train at the start of the year, so we're not really losing anything. Kosi isn't a FF or ruck, so see if we can offload him at seasons end for Didak, Brown or anyone that can play forward and actually kick goals. That's their job. Roo can't, and Kosi doesn't. A forward line that can't kick is like a bike with no wheels. Useless.

Worth a try
He kicked 4 v Carlton in round 2, so he's not totally hopeless.
At least he'll take a key defender.
Just plonk him in the goal square I say.

Hi Newman, welcome back.
I wouldn't object seeing the big man come back...but only if he was right and said he was right to go. our forward line hasn't looked to great without him to be honest. (or our delivery of the ball into the forward line??)

Re: Should we play Gehrig?
why do people keep saying BJ at FF? It makes no sense he was the only guy prividing run and kicking to a target get rid of him and he'll be sitting at FF with the ball not going near him...bigcarl wrote:i'd play dal santo at half forward alongside riewoldt and bj at ff.

But that's the point, Roo is up the ground trying to get a kick. Leaving Milne and schneider against 3-4 taller opponents. Foget Kosi, not sure what is wrong with him. Would prefer to see Rix come in for a relieving ruck as Kosi is a liability there.Gilbert=Legend wrote:Why bring another big forward when we cant get it right with only 2?????
Get a head you turkey's
The way I see it, Gehrig in a wheelchair would have to be a better option than Geary. But it is all academic anyway '08 has gone.
