Harvey memorabilia- Your favourite piece

Post: # 618134Post saintbrat »

the items will increase 10 or maybe 100 fold in the next few weeks,
the club have announced there will be a merchandise available-
http://www.saints.com.au/portals/58/shop.html
and many of us will pick up one of those- limited items if we can afford it or just take any items made available at one of the games to come.

But what is your current Harvey Item--
I made sure I got his signature both last year on a T-shirt
and this year On my Social club cap-

I guess I'm a cynic and don't know that e-bay items are necessarily ' true'

and always prefer to get the signature myself. the memory of actually speaking to the player of more value than a ' mass signed' item.

Signed 2007 jumper, framed with my "the Saint" autographed print and a photo of me and the great man. My little piece of mheaven, next to my identical one of Winmar. Looks pretty good flanking the good old "Nicky WinBar"

I was lucky enough to win the after match social club raffle, after a game vs North at Waverley in 1994. I was 11. The prize, Harvey's match jumper signed, presented by the great man. It means more to me than anything else I own.

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the special edition paintings to celebrate his 350 games, that, I will treasure for life, but I'm sure to buy a few bits and pieces in the next few months

My memory of talking to him in Adelaide after the final in 2005.

Better than any piece of paper or material.

Also, the high five after his 350th at Subi. One of the greatest moments of my life, I kid you not.

When I lived in Australia, I had basically dedicated a room to Robert Harvey. I had two huge mounted posters - one from 97 and one from 98, with his second Brownlow. Then I had hand made stuff - cutouts from Inside Football, etc... of him and the team. A signed footy with him and the others from 97. A lot more... in a room with homemade red white and black curtains - squares, about 30cm by 30cm. I've had my photo taken with him too.

I do feel a little embarrassed to say this - and I remember someone commenting "Say it isn't so!" when I last typed it a few years ago... But in 1997, I ran out of space in the room, so the posters moved into the next room (the toilet). And then when that space ran out, I got the toilet seat covered in Saints pictures, including a big one of Harves. You know... glued onto the seat cover. Also Loewe, Winmar, Burke, Shanahan, Tony Brown, and a few others on the seat. Looked good to me. Others weren't so sure though!
