Bakes played well for Casey last week.
my mail is that he shouldn't be playing this year he's knee is screwed and needs time to heal but both player and coach want him to be played so he is playing with injections each week. appearantly he's knee will feel fine when he is playing and once the game is over but come training time or prepartion for the next weeks game it flares up.
in my opinion i would give him a couple of weeks off and have him fit and firing come finals time.
wishful thinking though

yeah how much fun was it watching nicky winmar run around in bulldogs colours?
and i got a real kick out of watching david grant line up for the demons.
if baker's times up, he should be retired and given an off field role at the club, be it runner, assistant to the assistant coach, or the assistant magoos coach or something like that.

SHUT UP KRIME!

To say that Baker is still the best tagger in the lead is getting a bit carried away, however..
He was arguably on of the best in the league in his prime, but as many have said, that is behind him now.
I think football is becoming far too commercialised, and this is one of the results of them:
Would you ever think of trading Harvey?
Harvey is a very very rare player, one-of-a-kind player, he bleeds red white and black, now, while Baker isn't anywhere near the same as Harvey, he still bleeds red white and black. Take a step back from thinking about what might be best for the club. Create a culture at the club where if you are loyal to the club, the club is loyal to you.
Keep Baker. Stay loyal to our servants,
Need I remind you of

Is trading Baker away for the sake of one or two seasons "unity"
*From memory, dont kill me if its wrong

Exactly what I was going to write. Our motto says it all - don't trade a loyal servant for next to nothing!!Broodruff wrote:To say that Baker is still the best tagger in the lead is getting a bit carried away, however..

I can't wait for Bakes to get back and embarrass all the doubters!!
It seems quite few have forgotten how good he is; and how much he brings to the side. The Saints 'walk taller' and play tougher footy when Bakes is on the paddock.
He is the personificaton of accountability on a footy field.
NEVER write off a champion!
GO BAKES!! GO SAINTS!!!

It is not his ability that is in doubt. But his knee and fitness.BakesFan wrote:I can't wait for Bakes to get back and embarrass all the doubters!!
