Carlton...poaching Harvey...dirty cheats
Just read this on the AFL Site...
Carlton coach Brett Ratten
"HE'S BEEN an absolute champion of the game to win two Brownlow medals; if you’re looking at role models for younger players I think he’s nearly the perfect person to look at with the way he prepares.
"He’s such an honest player, a ball player, and I think he’s just a fantastic bloke off the field; he’s had a great career, he’s one of the all-time greats of the competition.
"I think it’s pretty sad when players of that ilk fall out of the game and walk away from the game because they’re very hard to replace and I think the game will miss Robert Harvey.
"I’d love to maybe have a chat with Harvs and see what the future holds for him and what his interests are and how much he wants to commit to football whether it be full-time, part-time or what, but we’d be interested to have a chat, yeah.
"But I think Harvs lives out Mount Martha way or somewhere down there so I reckon that would be a fair travel from Mount Martha to Princes Park."

point I'm trying to make is once you leave a club it's usually better to coach somewhere else so you get a fresh view on things, learn new things etc.iwantmeseats wrote:Pfft, thats SOS, this is Harvs.Solar wrote:um guys remind me where SOS used to play????

My point is...he hasn't even bloody finished yet.Solar wrote:point I'm trying to make is once you leave a club it's usually better to coach somewhere else so you get a fresh view on things, learn new things etc.iwantmeseats wrote:Pfft, thats SOS, this is Harvs.Solar wrote:um guys remind me where SOS used to play????
He's still playing, and their already talking about how good it is.
I don't remember us talking about SOS being a coach for us before he'd even finished.
all they are saying is that he will have a chat with harvey at the end of his career to see if he was interested in a coaching jobSaintschampions08 wrote:My point is...he hasn't even bloody finished yet.Solar wrote:point I'm trying to make is once you leave a club it's usually better to coach somewhere else so you get a fresh view on things, learn new things etc.iwantmeseats wrote:Pfft, thats SOS, this is Harvs.Solar wrote:um guys remind me where SOS used to play????

Just shows how highly they value this guy that he is getting these offers before he has finished playing!

They're obviously showing the utmost respect to that 'place' that Harvey talked about being for 21 years...you know the club?Solar wrote:all they are saying is that he will have a chat with harvey at the end of his career to see if he was interested in a coaching jobSaintschampions08 wrote:My point is...he hasn't even bloody finished yet.Solar wrote:point I'm trying to make is once you leave a club it's usually better to coach somewhere else so you get a fresh view on things, learn new things etc.iwantmeseats wrote:Pfft, thats SOS, this is Harvs.Solar wrote:um guys remind me where SOS used to play????

Sure, they might be showing a little respect to Harvey, but obviously are showing none to the club he's called home for the last 21 years.
huh? all ratten is saying is he would love to offer the guy a job next year......
how is that disrespect??
Doesn't stop the club from offering a job or for robert to decide a year or two away from football is what he wants.....

For a Blue scum Ratten always had my respect as a player and the words are kind from him about Harvs.
And why wouldn't he want to poach Harvs? Shows great judgement from ratten.

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Somehow, I doubt Harves would want to learn how to tank and cheat your way to a premiership by rorting the system... do you?Solar wrote:point I'm trying to make is once you leave a club it's usually better to coach somewhere else so you get a fresh view on things, learn new things etc.iwantmeseats wrote:Pfft, thats SOS, this is Harvs.Solar wrote:um guys remind me where SOS used to play????
