Bury 'em, Saints!
I don't mean to be a Captain Obvious, but a GRAND opportunity presents itself this weekend, where we can hammer a nail into the coffin which Collingwood is showcasing right now.
They are truly desperate right now, which means we will have one fight on our hands.
In normal circumstances Shaw would have been suspended for his drunken antics, but Eddie is on damage control.
I can recall similar instances where we've had a prime opportunity to kill a club out of contention, but instead we've choked and ultimately let our opponent use us as a stepping stone in which to revamp their season.
Well, now it's time to give a little love back to the Filth
What better team than to bury the hatchet into?

If Eddie spoke the truth this is what he would have really said.
"Heath Shaw was in an accident last night where he blew 3 times the legal limit. Now because we need him this Saturday night for a crucial game he will only be fined at the maximum level.
However let me assure the football public that if our finals spot was not in jeopardy, or we were not in position to make the finals, or if we were playing a far lesser team or Heath Shaw was not a regular senior player, he would have been suspended."
You are absolutely right Collingwood deserve to be belted Saturday night, just hope we are up to the task.

Absolutely! I thought Eddie lacked some real backbone. If he is serious about discipline within his group, it would have been an automatic suspension.3rd generation saint wrote:If Eddie spoke the truth this is what he would have really said.

Now with his softness, it creates possible hypocrisy within the club's politics if other players (in the future) are to behave as badly off the field.
Time to captilise and send 'em back to Lexus land licking their wounds

You can also argue the flipside...Our players will be aware of this and will be mentally tuned in for a hard contest. The Saints will come out fired up to finish the Pies season.saintsRrising wrote:Problem is that this will probably fire up most of their players for the match against us....
The last few weeks the Pies were getting more and more dis-spirited. This perversely wil probably unite them and they will come out fired up against us.
I like the sound of that
Will be a great contest...looking forward to it
