Promote Mini to the senior list!
Surely he will be promoted to the senior list for 2009?
Thoughts?
I reckon it's a no-brainer given recent form.

Well if he keeps up his current form I think he would be a certainty.
He has been excellent of late.
Also with Ball out for 3 weeks Mini will no doubt get a chance to strut his stuff as an inside mid......and I do note that in the last quarter against PA that he racked up 8 disposals.

Is in our starting 22 so you would think he would get a gig.saintspremiers wrote:Surely he will be promoted to the senior list for 2009?

I feel for Jaydn Attard. Hope he is given another chance.
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

It's an interesting one. They retained Attard knowing he was unlikely to see any action in 2008...so there intention I assume was for 09, however the emergence of Dempster and Mini must surely impact on their thinking.joffaboy wrote:Is in our starting 22 so you would think he would get a gig.saintspremiers wrote:Surely he will be promoted to the senior list for 2009?

Re: Promote Mini to the senior list!
We still lack a player to shut down opposition small forwards, and in particular if Baker struggles in his comeback. Such players often cause havoc against us, and against WC we lacked someone to play on LeCras for example.joffaboy wrote:

So there is a possible slot open for Attard as a back Pocket.
Grammy is being groomed as full time mid (and his defensive skills were poor anyway).
Hopefully when Attard comes back his pace will not be affected, well at least by 2009 anywaty.

Not bad for a player who was just redrafted to finish up his contract eh?
Not sure if he's a starting 22 player or not yet but he's not far off atleast...
As for Attard he still has a place on our list, he is a good depth player and as said above we really do struggle with the small forwards which has me worrying about this game...

I believe Attard was by far the best out of Mini, Demptser, Bakes etc definsivly stopping forwards. I remember last year against Collingwood he was the only one who could touch Dale Thomas, everyone else has nothing on him. Surely they will keep him, otherwise his spot on our list doing nothing is a potential waste of a years development of someone else.
Carpe Diem
That actually has a lot to do with his improved form fitness and attitude.. the bloke has worked his backside off to catch up to where he should have been, another pre season with some new confidence he can hopefully build.saint edward wrote:I've said it from the start i was gobsmacked he was on the rookie list in the first place
I know the under 18 competition isn't the be all and end all but he was skipper for Vic Country (correct me if i'm wrong) the bloke does have talent.
And its because he and many others worked their arses off to deserves their chance and the ones, not just be handed it!!
All the best mini!

Not at this stage no, anyone who wins it over him would have to have had a bloody good year.

I read a great article with Mini in teh hun a few weeks ago and the quote from him that "I fooled myself into thinking I was working hard when I wasnt" was a brilliant quote that demonstrated his willingness ro grab his last chance, which IMHo he has done
His spot on the list should be a givenm next year

Yep, CJ would be a very worthy recipient.
But Mini is now up there. But CJ has done if for longer.
And Blake is a notable for MIP this year as well.
