If you have your own made image you'll have to upload it to a photo storage site like http://www.photobucket.com then just get the url code of that and stick it in the avatar link space at the bottom of your profile. If you are just using an pic of google or something just right click the image and go to properties and get the url code that comes up and stick that in your avatar link space in your profile.

You need to get a pic and reduce it too avatar size.
