but you got to admit, when he kicks the ball, you sort of wonder why everyone can't drill 50m passes to the player on the chest, he makes it look so easy.
even that goal he scored from the 50arc looked like it went back a few rows as well, effortless.
hopefully no one gives him advise on how to kick the footy

His best game since the final against the Crows.
Hopefully they'll keeo him out of the backline. Has aggression, speed and a great kick.
Be very surprised if they delisted him.

The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

Actually, without sounding like a know it all, we were discussing if he could play at FF today. Was watching him in the warm ups drilling them from 45 out.
It gets back to having enough defenders so we can permanently play him up the ground and Gram in the middle.

To our delight he ended up coming on and stright to FFWayneJudson42 wrote:Actually, without sounding like a know it all, we were discussing if he could play at FF today. James played a great game today. Lucky he stood up when many others didn't.
Isn't that the sign of a good side ?
We told him him as much in the Victory room and he fobbed it off with a shrug.
A very unassuming character.
Nick seemed VERY peeved off.
I think it may have been the general team performance or else his own performance not up to his high standards.
I think he turned an ankle early in the game though. He appeared to be hampered.

poor James- attended the Victory room and as usual most just stick out their hats and get what ever signature is being done
4 yr old or there abouts had been handed a cap to get signed- Unfortunately for James roo ahd just started speaking on the podium and the 4 yr old withdrew that hat and just pointed to Roo.
mother tried to explain that every player was worth getting- he wasn't having bar of it.

looks to have a future under lyon which is good.
I just hope he doesnt get the blake treatment aka- selleys gap filler.
Blake seems completely transformed as a regular backman, I hope jimmy can nail down a position for himself also.
A couple of very nice straight shots at goal today , and Roo is crying out for some help across HF.

I bought a shirt from Target once.
It had a hard tag on it too.
I know how Dal feels.

midfield?
that might be a little beyond him.
Although I must say- thats the closest ive ever come to agreeing with something you've said Teflon- your not mellowing out are you?
Be careful throwing around those carefully constructed, considered statements- it might become a habit!

great game Jimbo!
We wouldn't have won without you today,
BIG statement???? maybe... but think about it
Gwilt kicked a couple of good goals, and possibly contributed to a couple more....ok maybe gave one away, but single-handedly repelled quite a few seemingly very dangerous Port attacks ....then that brilliant smother in the desperate stages
question ...anyone play for Casey on Saturday that would more than likely on current form have done all that for us today????
and some clowns say delist the young bloke!

Im always mellow duck.....
As for Gwilt and midfield.....Im not suggesting hes gonna start games theres but he has the body size to may be pinch hit cause we were struggling for a clearance for a while there today and he managed a couple AND with a decent roost of the ball sent us into fwd 50 quickly......why couldnt he be played in short bursts there?
“Yeah….nah””
we have a few players that are worthy of playing AFL footy but not in positions that they are played
Gwilt and Raph are not backmen, neither is Ferguson. Would love to see Jimmy Gwilt get a run on HFF instead of backline, but it comes down to team balance
I would also love to see Gilbert or Goddard in the Fwd 50 too, but that wont happen. I did not Goddard got a run in last qtr in fwd 50
good coaching, mixing it up

I disagree because I can't really recall any occasions where he has done what's required of a midfielder- ie going in and getting his own ball.Teflon wrote: why couldnt he be played in short bursts there?
And if your suggesting he could rotate through as a receiver type- i ask you, don't we already have 18 other blokes in the side capable of doing that?
He may have the body size to compete for the ball, but his reactions and decision making would get found out I think.
Not having a go at him, I just think his strengths lie elsewhere.

do you think you could use your influence to get BJ moved from the last line of defence (where he looks out of sorts and gives away free kicks) to a role where he can use his creative skills ... hf or wing?
