Correct me if I'm wrong - carry over points expire after 12 months. So he should go in with a clean record. Hopefully end up with a reprimand only - after a discount.Sobraz wrote:absolute joke..
im guessing his got points hanging over his head from 4 or 5 years ago...
surely all we'd have to do is get out C.Judd's 'how to jumper punch' video and we're in the clear...
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

I think your right, but it seems that guys like Hall have no carry overs yet one of our blokes will be crudified... for nothing... again..yipper wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong - carry over points expire after 12 months. Kosi's infraction might well be assessed as:-
Hit to the body
low impact (no reaction from struck player)
in play (since Barry Hall's punch of Goose, everything is in play)
Early Plea
Baker's teammate
4 WEEKS!

Saw the jumper punch and thought it would get looked at....could only get 1 week at the most. Also saw Hodge smack Ball in the head in a marking contest and some one else smack King in the side of the head going for a mark. Both were cheaps shots and could also come under scrutiny.
Happiness is a warm pie!
you are allowed 1 free hit on Luke Ball per game.dalboy wrote:Saw the jumper punch and thought it would get looked at....could only get 1 week at the most. Football was there both times and so I would doubt anything would happen with either of those.dalboy wrote:Saw the jumper punch and thought it would get looked at....could only get 1 week at the most. Does he still have carry over points?Justin Koschitzke, St Kilda, has been charged with striking Robert Campbell, Hawthorn, during the second quarter of the Round 16 match between St Kilda and Hawthorn, played at Telstra Dome on Saturday July 21, 2007.
In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.
The incident was assessed as reckless conduct (two points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points). This is a total of six activation points, resulting in a classification of a Level Three offence, drawing 225 demerit points and a two-game sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the penalty by 25 per cent to 168.75 points and a one-game sanction.

offence occured prior to 12 month period finishing.Otiman wrote:That's an interesting point with no precedent.
The act occured on saturday night, before the carry over points were removed. However, the tribunal is on tuesday night, after the year is up.
I suspect we will get shafted on this one.

The date of the offence is not the issue. By definition of the AFL rules, an AFL year is defined as
"The preceding number of AFL years is defined as the equivalent round in the relevant previous year of the pre-season competition or the home and away competition."
Now does this mean a year would run from start of Round 16 last year (when Kosi was reported) to start of round 16. A year runs from start of January 1 to start of January 1, not end of Jan 1.
Anyone who would like to read the mess they refer to as the Tribunal booklet can find it at
