Heath Black Finished?

Post: # 606062Post Bowey Boy »

According to "The Hun", Black "has told teammates he is considering hanging up his boots". I presume this means permanently at 29 years of age.

Clearly there are still issues with the man which have affected his ability to play the game. I think he also said that he regretted having ever being transferred to St Kilda. He was also a bit disruptive to the club and liked to argue with his own teammates.......but geez I would like him back.

He was a good player at the Saints. He was part of our hardness and running in 04 and 05

I'm pretty sure he was traded at the end of the 04 season. He was a very valuable player and to think we only got Fiora for him it was an even bigger loss.

He was the softest 'hard man' ever to pull on a jumper.

Couldn't hold a tackle, and had a glass jaw.

Wuss and overrated.

Nah we had him in 04, I remember him throwing the ball up when the siren went against Brissy in 04 after Schwarzy's goal.

Would love to have him back too.

Heath Black had talent

suffered a bit from Caydn Syndrome.

Went back to Freo and earned $$ without putting in the effort.

black and powell were very good for us.

I'd rather him than Fiora.

Harsh?

my least favorite player of all time.

was talented enough to be an elite midfielder and played 1 good season (2004) where he played match winning... i'll kick the winning goal myself type of football.

Then he went back to Freo and just hung off the HBF letting team mates hand the ball to him, stopped running hard and became a complete front runner.
Don't know that he ever swung the game for Freo in a situation where it really mattered

Black was a good footballer for us, but had very little impact and influence since returning to Freo. Good luck to him if he happens to retire.

That's a shame. Always remembered if it wasn't Aussie doing some hard running, it was Black! I believe it was family issues that drove him back to the West. I missed him as a player, he gave us some great pace!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
