We CAN win a premiership
I feel tonight's game was a turning point. We proved we can win against the top sides and have the belief to come from behind and win.
A great team effort with some extra special performances....
CJ's run down ...fantastic
Blakes A grade performance

I reckon the North game was the turning point in our season, THIS was the defining moment. 33 points down and playing poorly we can come back and show a testicular region that is grapefruit-like in size.

Who cares about the Cats game.
It was played in front of 35000 rabid Cats fans, Dogs played poorly and were due, just like the Cats are due, a few more injuries and there depth will be tested. Our depth has been tested for 5 years, and we know it is not good enough, do they????
The Cats and the Hawks over the years have been our bitches, not like the Eagles, or Adelaide or Lions.
This could be our time, we only have the Pies to beat above us and we can do some damage.
We are forming into a good side again, dont take tonights victory too lightly, they had all there guns, no excuses and we pulled there pants down in a classic 3rd qtr display.
Its all coming together, if the injury gods smile on us and give the others some curry, 1997 will look like a cake walk. Check us out in round 15 in 97 we were 8-7. The similaritys are quite bizare, except that in 97 we didnt have a side that had played in finals and had a harder edge.
We won the Nab cup this year, have beaten Sydney and Hawthorn and noone has pumped us.
We are going OK for a tilt.
I wouldnt have guessed this 6 weeks ago
Enjoy this Sainters

Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future
Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, but most just say " What the f#&k happened!".

Well put it this way, if Sydney lose tomorrow and I can't say enough how much I want Carlton to win tomorrow because of it.
We will be only 2 points from 4th spot at the end of the round.
To think we may finish 4th and be classed as a top 4 side is a little scary considering we have not played like one for most of the year.
Means we would most likely have to play Geelong week 1 of the finals and if you listened to Channel 10 tonight they were hinting that we may have some chance if we keep rolling on the way we are.
It also needs to be pointed out in the past few weeks our "key/main" top 8 to 10 players are all playing well and it looks like things are coming together nicely. We just need to continue and build momentum as we hit the finals.
Then finals footy is a different game and we actually may stand a chance to cause a lot of grief. Enough grief to win the flag and I not convinced just yet... Not after watching Geelong just walk all over the dogs in the 2nd half today.... We still have some way to go to say we are in con tension to win the flag more to the point, beat Geelong on the last Saturday of September (if we happen to get there)
Personally I don't want to get there if it means we do a port Adelaide performance.

They would have been very releaved to see us out of the finals last year, and I reckon they'd be looking at us pretty hard from now on. We've been Geelong's biggest threat for a long time, because we know we can match 'em...the '04 GF was nearly Geelong v's Saints!BigMart wrote:Missed the cats game today???

Guess you shouldn't let the facts get in the way when trying to making a bogus claim - Geelong has beaten St Kilda in 11 0f the last 16 encounters (going back to and including season 2000) and they're St Kilda's "bitches" over the years ... yeah, right!....here are the facts:Goody wrote:Who cares about the Cats game.

Clarkson said it was a reality check for the Hawks
But it was also a reality check for us....
gotta agree with this ....

Yep...thats wht had everyone fired up I think. Not only was it a fantastic comeback against the side 2nd on the ladder...like the Brisbane games in 2003/2004 it was the dawning realisation that our very best is good enough to beat a Top 2 side...and that the finals are beckoning wide now
There were a lot of monkeys thrown off backs tonight methinks

Yes, but what about 1997 to 1999? Or before the Boer War? Speaking of bores (or perhaps boars), preparing to unfurl a flag after round 16 usually results in one thing - terrible disappointment. If the Cats get two or three broken legs to key players, things will be different. Not that I wish any ill on their players, no more than we have endured over the years anyway.FootyLover wrote:Guess you shouldn't let the facts get in the way when trying to making a bogus claim - Geelong has beaten St Kilda in 11 0f the last 16 encounters (going back to and including season 2000) and they're St Kilda's "bitches" over the years ... yeah, right!....here are the facts:Goody wrote:Who cares about the Cats game.

If miracles happen and we finished fourth against their first - it would be an even money bet at that stage.

Exactly...our half-arsed team beat their half-arsed team. Geelong should be worried...we smashed them everywhere last match, apart from the scoreboard. They have the happy knack of playing us every time we're down on form or depleted with injuries, so you can jam their past record into a small dark hole.Harvey To Hayes wrote:Don't forget our stirring NAB Cup defeat of them earlier this year

Way to early to tell if we can win the flag but we probably need to finish top 4 to have a chance. No side has won it from 5th sice we had this finals format. The other good thing about 4th is you are one win away from a preliminary final or at worst you get a second chance and we wouldnt have to play the Cats again until the GF.
We need 5 wins at least to get 4th and one of those wins must be the pies.

yea we've been playing really attacking recently... theres been a lot of handballs and playing on.. instead of the waiting and then they flood  (we flooded more too)
truth be said, if we play aggressively and it becomes a shootout against the other team - we should win more often than not..such is the talent.. and i think the belief is there atm!
really exciting stuff right now... plz keep it going on should beat every team bar Cats lol.. (farkkk they are too good... but would love to test em if ew come #4 and play em in qualifying final.. anything can happen then...)

I would completely goo if we played Geelong come qualifying final AND BEAT them.... then play em in the grand final and beat em again... would be fairytale stuff *dreamsdegruch wrote:Exactly...our half-arsed team beat their half-arsed team.
