Luke Ball and his OP injury

Post: # 604742Post Cairnsman »

While introducing Luke ball on last nights Footy Show, James Brayshaw alluded to a rumour that Luke’s OP might have returned in the last couple of weeks.

Has anyone got any insight into what JB was banging on about?

i remember bally came off to get some work on his hip/groin idea, cant remember what game it was but he ran out the game! So i think hes just causing a stir, cause bally doesnt seem to be hampered in any way.

James Brayshw is to Eddie Mcguire what testicular cancer is to leprosy.

Just so we are clear on this, so you don't like James Brayshaw.

it was awesome that bally disn't shy away from the fact that we toweled-up the kanga's -- i liked that.

and just to clarify that everyone has been asking bally the same questions .. : how's the OP?

bet he gets sick of it eh.
manages himself well, plays out of his skin only for every cool cat under the Sun to ask .. : and bally, mate, hows the OP?

he's tempted to go:
"well phuk, i'm alright. it's better than Chris Dudd's put it that way!"

I guess it is inevitable that they ask . He sould say "fine " and move on.

I am generally impressed the way the boys handle themselves .

I bet he gets sledged on the field about it , but he then just runs off and plays a blinder. Same with Roo and the shoulder ......

I can't remember eaxctily when it was now..but sometime within the last week Ball was interviewed on radio and was asked about the fact that he seemed to be handballing more and was kicking less and was asked if this was due to injury.

I don't remember the response verbatim but the reply was that injury was not a factor and that he was pretty fit now.

He certainly did not say he had OP re-occuring.

was at the carlton game and keeped an eye on bally.
did notice he wasnt moving as freely as previos weeks, thought he may have had a reoccurance or maybe just isnt 100% yet.
judd also looks in pain when he moves but his superior pace makes his battle less noticeable.

can't remember the numbers, but ball was on for about 60% of game time, Judd was close to 100%.

Ball is a quality player that contributes significantly to every win, If ball was at carlton he'd be playing close 90% game time.

Ball COULD be a 30 possession a game player, and so could harvey, (given banger is averaging 20 at 60% game time)

but perhaps our 'time managment', has resulted in our winning 4th quarters...

I think I remember something about Ball copping a wack on the thigh/leg which may have impeded him.

there is one point late in the game- after Judd had taken one of his interchanges but came back on and was standing in the centre waiting for the ball to be bounced and he was just bending the knees a little and looked very much in pain.
Luke does not appear to have that degree of pain (they had exactly the same surgeries 2 weeks apart) whether it be better game management or just differeant all over training.

The operation may have been the same, but remember that Judd only go injured last year whereas Ball wasa fair bit back and would have had a lot of other treaments and so the two cases are not directly comparable.

In addition the extent of the problem for each is not known.

Yep, I too noticed Juddy grimace in the last quarter as he performed a magnificent weaving run through to someplace between wing and half forward, and the camera closed in as he got his kick away in traffic and from the grimace on his face as he kicked, I thought this ball isn't going to go too far....however, as the camera panned out I saw that he did get fair distance with the kick.

Definitely hurting.

Go you good things....!!!
