Kerr...
May be on the move COULD we SHOULD we have a crack....what could we do to get him?
Hes what 24/25? still young...running,GOAL kicking mid who wins his own ball and is a gun.......is his age along with a core of Riewoldt, Kosi, Ball, Dal, Hayes , Gram, Fisher, Goddard, et al young enough to then compliment this core with some kids to win a flag....?
hhmmm...thoughts?

He would be a fantastic recruit but would be very hard to get salary cap wise and through a trade.Teflon wrote:May be on the move COULD we SHOULD we have a crack....what could we do to get him?

Re: Kerr...
Yeah theyd probably want 2 first round picks....thats a big hit especially this season....but still its interesting if you consider St Kilda is probably not at the spot where we will be able to bottom out and rebuild with kids through high draft picks with GC teams etc coming in to get a flag side (imo we are a way off this)...o on that front a proven gun would be handy...plugger66 wrote:He would be a fantastic recruit but would be very hard to get salary cap wise and through a trade.Teflon wrote:May be on the move COULD we SHOULD we have a crack....what could we do to get him?

After much consideration I have to say no.
With MG I thought at his stage of his career and his life he could turn it around and he could make a difference. I saw something in MG that showed he was at a point where he could change.
When the culture of Benny came up, I emphatically said no. Wouldn’t want his character near our club. Never.
Now Kerr pops up. No again. I don’t see him changing his spots.
Wouldn’t take him, let Carlton have him…
Wouldn’t want that WCE ingrained shocking culture at our club.

Why dont we get Benny boy at the same time?
Dont know if we would win a flag but the parties would be huge.
It would be the naughties version of the Saints Disco from the 70's and 80's

Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

I saw something in MG's interviews and his responses that I've never seen in Bennys or Kerrs.
So I run with it.

Problem is that if we finish in the 8, we won't have the picks to deal with. Let's see if thescum start tanking. Suspect the filth would be onto him if they can't get Brown.
The lid is off after Round 2! Enjoy the journey, coz you just don't know where we'll end up. Live for today and seize the moment.

mate, it's been 5 years since their last GF appearance. bet u they won't hold their nerve for long. Natives will be restless... especially the cane toad.
So it wouldn't suprise if they got both to try to fast track to another granny.

Kerr is trouble, and he's an idiot
but he is as good as cousins and only marginally behind Judd.
given his age, let collingwood or someone else have cousins, if the price is right (BIG IF)
I'd grab kerr.
5 to 10 years left in him.
Also depends on if we get in a bidding war with another club, which i would hate to be in.
we must
1. pursuade WCE its worth trading with us
2. Pay Kerr somehwere in excess of 500k p/a
2 isn't much of an issue, 200k odd will be released if harvey retires, and another swag if gehrig goes, plus I think this year or next year lenny goes into the veterans category with max.
Im pretty sure we can scroung 450k to 500k or so. (this would or could be blow out of the water if the swans offer 800k or something stupid like that)
1 satisfying WCE.
they will want a player of equal stature to Kerr plus a couple of draft picks.
A lot of folks NOW have us finishing between 5 and 10. thats a middle ranking round 1 pick + a player of quality. I'd ask the players how the felt about moving, IF a top ranking player WANTED to move west, maybe, alternatively moving to a side with a top 3 draft pick.
Kerr would cost 2 round 1 draft picks (one in the top 3 or 4) OR a mid rank round 1 draft pick and a player of quality (and no, they don't want mcqualter, gwilt, charlie garnder or demster, even as a bundle)
the 3rd scenario is we win the flag and say who frak needs kerr
but he is as good as cousins and only marginally behind Judd.
