Hudghton !!
I thought that was just about the best I have seen him play last night. He was terrific!!!
Very entertaining exchanges with the Fev also.
Is this his last year? If so, he will be sorely missed. He has been a most passionate player for us for many years.
Three cheers for Maxi !

Max at his very best, give him a challenge like, Pav, Hall, Fev, Brown, Buddy and he will not let you down.....champion.... other than Brown when our midfield was non existent and the delivery was perfect from Black, Power and co.....Max stands up every week.....But last night was a bit special because he really got under Fev's skin and beat him hands down.....Fev last night Max pulled you're pants down in front of a million people how do you feel about that mate......Well done Max beat him fair and square mate....Champion Sainter....
Our best is yet
to come......
to come......

I loved when Fev had his hands on his knees sucking in the air 'cause he'd run 20m.
So Max bends down with his face right in Fev's and has a quiet chat about the weather.
Max is priceless.

I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints

Re: Hughton !!
Max has played at least ffty games that good, he is slowing down but he has had less goals kicked on him per game average than any full back, including Scarlett.. Max is a Saints great.... probably the most underated full back ever.taz wrote:I thought that was just about the best I have seen him play last night. He was terrific!!!

His Mum teach's at my daughters school in Ferny Grove, Brisbane.
I'll ask her next time I see her of Max's intentions. last time I spoke to her she said he was only interested in one year deals anyway. She says she hates watching him because he always seems to get injured when she see's him.
I told her to stay away from Melbourne until after September
One thing is though Max has a younger brother(about 15-16) and he is a rangy kid and plays in the local Bris league, might be worth a look.
Our luck he'll end up as a premier full back for GC17

Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future
Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, but most just say " What the f#&k happened!".

GOod to see the folks who were calling for him to be delisted or traded while we could get something good for him, are quiet for a bit.
lets hope goose maguire can come back and show folks why we loved him 3 seasons ago.

love Maxy. always have.
definately a full back GREAT.
hopefully a few more years are ahead for him.
being slower has no disadvantage to decreasing his opponent to zilch
always enjoyed watchin him bleed for the team and show his emotion more than any other player. memories of him in tears from to many losses also bashing his head from frustration...ect.
i would hate being the apponent of that man!
