Harvey on BTG.....
His last words were..
"It is more than likely that I will go on next year"
...and the St Kilda masses rejoice

Ahh but his last words before the previous ad break were that he was fairly sure this year would be his last
I think that was UN-likely he said at the end.
Great telly btw..some funny ribbing from the guys and as always the humbleness and humility of the man shone through

I have been hesitant to repeat in detail what Robert told us last Saturday at his store when I asked him if there were just 1% chance he would play on.
After seeing this on BTG I can say what he said tonight was exactly what he said last Saturday. He won't play on.
Last Sat he said it was time the Club moved on and they needed young fast players through the midfield.Tonight he said the same thing.
Tonight I noticed the same reaction he had last Saturday when he mentioned Lenny Hayes. He obviously thinks very highly of Lenny.
I could not but feel humbled and proud of the guy tonight. Geez, he carries himself so well.
Modest and decent with an enormous work ethic.
He most definately could go on but he unselfishly will retire for the Club.
Tonights program on the BTG was sensational and a testament to Harvs career.
HARVS is another valid reason I love the StKFC

The ultimate class players on the ground last night were:
C Judd
R Harvey
L Hayes
N Riewoldt
J Koschitzke
Which is why we won. Unfortunately, we have two or three really bad players who gift goals to the opposition. I counted six of Carlton's 12 in this category. That's what we need to eliminate. Our worst players have to be at least average.

Is that the dumbest question ever posted!plugger66 wrote:I have always wanted to ask this question. Which option would you take. 1 If you were definately going to win the flag but Harvey wouldnt play or 2 you are in the GF but may or may not win the flag but Harvs will play.
Which would you take and there is only one option.

And I'll answer for all Saintsationlists - Number 1 please. Now get off the computer and keep your missus company

my point is harvey got 19 possessions from 59% game time according to the paper.
watching the game there was some really hard running, including possession 1, and possession 4 in a chain, leading to a shot at goal.
I dont think some of his team mates are as good as his disposals to receive the passes.
I also loved the burst through 3 carlton tacklers, probably their combined age matched bangers, and i loved him chasing down Judd to the boundary.
Harvey is quality still, earning his place in the 22 every week.
Pretty sure Harvey marks himself harder than anyone else, and wouldn't front up for a GF if he thought he was going to be a liability.

Plugger66 I can understand your question.
It had me really thinking.
You never asked to put Harvs ahead of a Cup. You asked whether a garaunteed Cup without Harvs or a GF with Harvs in it that we may win or lose was the choice.
I reckon that's a tough a question but I'd go for a GF with Harvs and the chance of pulling it off.

You are not allowed to answer that question as it apparently is the most stupid question asked on this site but thanks for your reponse anyway even if I disagree completely.howlinwolf wrote:Plugger66 I can understand your question.

An interesting question. As you said many would be split.plugger66 wrote:You are not allowed to answer that question as it apparently is the most stupid question asked on this site but thanks for your reponse anyway even if I disagree completely.howlinwolf wrote:Plugger66 I can understand your question.

The interesting thing is what would the great man himself choose?
I'm not sure that he wouldn't choose the first option himself such is his humbleness and love for the club.
