Post: # 600827Post Goody »

As I am somewhat indisposed still in Thailand and usaully enjoy league teams on Fox on Thursday nights, anything said about our game that stood out?
What was the general consensis?
Are we rated?
Lenny would have to be one of the greatest inclusions of the year so far!
How far is M Gardiner away?
Thanks for any advice

Hi Pwoit,
I am in Phuket and have just spent time also in Krabi. Been to Thailand 4 times in the last 4 years.
We love the shopping, the food, the laid back lifestyle and the people. Last year we came for a month, all the locals treat you different then, leave you alone and stop trying to sell you sh!t.
We come home next week, I'll be watching the game tonight at 4pm at the Sailor Bar in Patong. They always have ice cold Singa/Tiger in big eskies and serve them quick smart for about 60bht( $2). I love how they bill you and you pay at the end of the night. You hand over 1000bht and you even get change!! Night out costs less than $20 Oz and you could even get a decent feed out of that too.

Phuket is what it is, a place for Thai's to make money out of us, thats it.
I just went shopping and bought a 4gig memory stick for about $12 plus a couple of decent speakers for my ipod for about $18.
Patong is not pretty but it is a place for adult indulgence and I dont mean the sex side of it( I'm with my family). Drinking, eating having fun and not having to mortgage the house for it. I couldnt go to Cairns or Port Douglas an get 3 weeks accomadation in a fully furnished A/C apartment 150metres from the beach for $800!!!!
Food is cheap, grog is cheap ($1 a stubby of tiger/hieiken in the bottle shops/7/11) ciggys ($3 a packet), transport to just about anywhere is max $5, you just cant do it in Oz.
Fuel here is about $1.20 a litre.
We have hired a 4x4 Hilux stationwagon which is all singing ll dacing and it has cost us $30 a day.
Patong can be over awing for some people but as a base to explore and see the rest of the country for us it is just great.
Anyway 2 hours to warm up my hammys

When I tried to watch the video, it comes up with a message that says "We’re sorry, but due to regional rights restrictions our videos are only available to viewers located in Australia."
