I've got that rounds edition of The Winners on video tucked away somewhere. Two things are good for a chuckle, in the post match, Kevin Bartlett tells people to keep an eye on Footscray's Linton Fitzpatrick because he's a star of the future ... um ... who?
And Plugger is interviewed in the change rooms afterwards and makes a comment about staying at the Saints forever.

Still waiting for closure ... if you get my drift.

I was one of the first out on the ground to pat Plugger on the back
We'd been going from end to end waiting for the moment, and he just happened to take the shot right in the pocket in front of where we were waiting at the fence...
Rod Owen and Nicky were trying to protect Plugger but there were too many people...
Great win that day as well, good times, good times....

We were probably running side by side I also remember saints supporters moving from end to end to get ready to jump the fence.Harvey To Hayes wrote:I was one of the first out on the ground to pat Plugger on the back

His matchday No 14 jumper was raffled off in the Social Club after the game and it has been hanging in our cupboard at home for the last 21 years - dirt and all - only time Plugger ever kicked 100 wearing the number 14 jumper - great piece of memorabilia - could be worth a bit!!

Only if you have a certificate to verify that it is from that game otherwise its worth as much as the one I have.Devilhead wrote:His matchday No 14 jumper was raffled off in the Social Club after the game and it has been hanging in our cupboard at home for the last 21 years - dirt and all - only time Plugger ever kicked 100 wearing the number 14 jumper - great piece of memorabilia - could be worth a bit!!

So big Plugger presenting the jumper - signed and dated - to my dear old Mum from the stage in the Social Club in 1987 after the Footscray game - isn't the original???plugger66 wrote:Only if you have a certificate to verify that it is from that game otherwise its worth as much as the one I have.Devilhead wrote:His matchday No 14 jumper was raffled off in the Social Club after the game and it has been hanging in our cupboard at home for the last 21 years - dirt and all - only time Plugger ever kicked 100 wearing the number 14 jumper - great piece of memorabilia - could be worth a bit!!
I mean cmon are you telling me that the MC was lying when he announced from the stage in the Social Club that the jumper about to be raffled is the original worn by Tony three hours earlier after he kicked his 100th - with the dirt on it mind you - yeah OK P66 - whatever you say mate
Certificates of Authenticity??? - I am sure the club will be more than happy to present one once they see the jumper - signed and dated
Seriously you are such a know it all twat - no one can ever get one over you can they - well guess what knobby the jumper is authentic yours isn't - suck it up big fella

I was at that game and was not going to run on the ground But the crowed behind me running on forced me to go as well. would have to say was my greatest memory of those days at morrabbin. I was 19 at hte time and there was a group of us that always stood behind the goals week in week out, usually very drunk and full of song then back to linton st hotel or saints disco. Be great to see that game.
As I have said about 10 times the Saints disco was Friday night. They never had the disco on Saturday.sainter104 wrote:I was at that game and was not going to run on the ground But the crowed behind me running on forced me to go as well. would have to say was my greatest memory of those days at morrabbin. They never had the disco on Saturday. Once in a blue moon they would have a players function but the Saints disco was always and only on a friday. Just get a photo or an old game on video and you will see it on the scoreboard.sainter104 wrote:say it 11 times plugger but I went there many times saturday after game

I was there with a mate.
And we swapped ends each quarter to follow Plugger.
And then joined in the thousands on the ground.
Those were the days.
Then round to join the queue outside the Social Club.
Drinks.
The song.
Raffles.
Drinks.
The song.
The top 3 players.
The song.
Drinks.
etc.
