Don't get me wrong, his kicking of late give me the $h1ts too. I've been on side with him in this thread, and he's gone and made me look crazier than normal! I wonder if it might not help doing as some have suggested and releasing him from CHF, where the touches are gold and the pressure high. Let him rack some up at CHB or on the wing, then throw him forward late when he's been dominating and his confidence is high... it would probably help if someone else on the team kicked straigh a bit more often too, Gehrig used to take the big share of that pressure.matrixcutter wrote: he cant do everything.....and some pressure needs to be released i feel.
its just the guiding of the cherry to his foot that really gives me the shites BAM.
he'll get over it and it wont be long and he will be back to slotting them from all corners of the park (with any luck).
Either that, or get him to see a shrink. Or if he's seeing a shrink, get him to stop.
I guess it's a bit of a case in point - this team is not enjoying their football right now.

he should be played on the wing Richo style, with Kosi and maybe Ferguson the permanent forwards
and isn't he good friends with Jason Dunstall? you would think he would be the perfect guy to help Roo become one of the best kicks for goal in the league

All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.
Rooey is great mark for sure but his kicking def lets him down. Buddy does miss alot! but he can get his hands on it alot too I wish Riewoldt kicked like Fev or Lockett

There was a time when Nick was a great kick for goal...clearly his problems are psychological. He needs to work them out quicksmart.
Heard an interesting thing said by another fan at the Dogs game...that Lockett would practice MISSING shots at goal as well as kicking goals, so he would become as accurate at kicking behinds as goals. Maybe Nick should try something like that, so there isn't this heap of pressure to get it between the big ones.
Anyway he needs to try something different.

You are comparing apples with giraffes.m_m wrote:fev>riewoldt>franklin
Fev is a FF only; Roo and Buddy are roaming forwards who can also play FF if needed to, or take a turn in the midfield. Of the 3 Franklin is the most outrageous talent, Roo more workmanlike, Fev the best lead-and-mark (and certainly the best kick for goal of the 3).
Over the course of their respective careers, I'd expect Franklin to be the most decorated assuming he stays relatively injury free. He is an extreme talent, once in a generation (Ablett (snr) -esque). Neither Roo or Fev, as good as they are, are that.
But it's all opinion anyway. I'd not swap Roo for either, I doubt anyone at Hawthorn would swap Buddy, and by the sounds of it you wouldn't swap Fev. So we are all happy!

Didn't take notice of the final score line last night?my les foote wrote:For old time's sake.
Buddy 1.1 and one wobbly one that dribbled out of bounds.
Riewoldt 3.0
Sam Fisher 2.0
Do you think the Hawks will be starting a thread "I wish Buddy was as good a kick for goal as Sam Fisher?"

Franklin let his teammates down in a prelim. Lucky for them they have the cattle to win without him.
Considering the supply and delivery to Riewoldt, he played well and never stopped trying.
