Great win by us, but North were terrible after 1/4 time.
Thank god we play some crap teams on our run home.
We may finish in the eight by default!!

No way am i gunna say North were pathetic..
They were 33 points up & had dubious kicks go their way yet we were still able to get up & win.. I say we got up cos were were hungier than them not because they were woeful..
Showed great fight to knuckle down & fight it out even when it wasn't going their way..
GO SAINTERS!!

If we beat Carltoon in a fortnight, we are nearly back.....
north had all to play for, coming off a great win against the hawks
had the game given to them on a platter but we lifted 100 cogs
yet you think beating a bottom 8 team in carlton might show more
I expect to beat the blues

North are a good side...
We STOPPED them getting clean use.
For once our defensive game found some synergy with attack.
Great win with lots of heart.
Looks like we have more guys playing for the jumper than I thought we did four weeks ago.

I'm backing that sentiment also! I couldn't imagine us coming back from being so far down! We haven't done something like this for ages! The Roo's had us, we applied the pressure and we came out the other side as the winners!Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:it takes guts to beat any team by 5 and a half goals downHalo Halo wrote:No way am i gunna say North were pathetic..

Go you good things!! The Kanga's are known as shinboners- but tonight they were shinboned at their own game! End of story!
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

beating the blues will show consistentcy, in that it will be 3 wins on the trot.Solar wrote:don't agree at allsaintspremiers wrote:2 wins in a row is a good start, a win interstate is also.Solar wrote:PATHEIC RESPONSE

What we need is momentum.
The wheel has began to turn, let's just hope the bye week doesn't stuff it up.
I'm stoked, don't get me wrong!!

did you ask yourself why were north crap, I think you will find the answer is pressure
have you looked at recent form the roos have been great
have you looked at home many teams come back from that sort of deficit
mate enjoy the moment, we were a very good side after half time
tackles, clearance all the stats that seem to matter we were good in

spot on strauchanie. Not often have we been able to say after playing "North" that we wanted the win more than them or that we out-worked them. We did that tonight. Terrific effort!

Great call Terry Smith Rules. Our pressure was the best its been for the year, it was a step-up again from last week. After 1/4 time the kangas started making a lot of silly errors because of not only our pressure, but the inferred pressure. Very proud of our efforts in the "one-percenters" tonight.

Faith never wavered for AWESOME Saints
Saint Kilda players dug incredibly deep and found what is there - the vital ingredient that any successful team needs. Gutsy sums it up best. North were in the box seat and must have thought the saints just couldn't worry them. In spite of a stack of free kicks gouing the shinboners way and the gift from heaven -- a 150m. free kick it was the saints that threw themselves in repeatedly at the ball. Our defence got on top , Kosi and Milne and Dal Santo stepped up and Roo ran his heart out again. As the game rolled on into the crunch time of the 4th. qrt. our players just kept looking better and more comfortable.
Well done Eddy backing up all night and snaring a 6pointer.
WELL DONE ALLAN THROWING HIMSELF AT A PACK OF ROOS AND MAKING HIMSELF A MARKING PRESENCE IN THE FORWARD LINE.
This was mental strength swinging the result. Saint Kilda were well up to running a marathan tonight and north were no doubt surprised.
A Friday night blockbuster awaits at the 'G'
Saints have earned 8th. spot so far now let's hold on to what is ours.
Give blues NOTIN !

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
North were really good I thought our boys just lifted though the roo's are a good team and if your not happy with that win your not gunna be happy with much mate. GO SAINTS !! great win

Who was it who said "I wouldn't want to be part of any club that would have me as a member"?
North have dropped a couple against sides you'd expect them to beat. They were thumped by Freo, and from halfway through the 2nd, we took control. They've also beaten Hawthorn and the Dogs.
For the Saints to win from 5 goals down (which we haven't done for years) is huge, regardless of opposition. To do it against someone like North in a make or break game like that is huge. It's given me more hope for '08 than I've had since round 3.

Agree!
Great win.....But North stopped running from late in the third term onwards.
We were made to look a lot better than what we really were.
Nonetheless, Great win.
