HAYES TRIPPED

Post: # 591212Post ace »

A number of years ago the AFL made tripping a reportable offence because it claimed tripping had the potential to cause injury.
Lenny Hayes was deliberately tripped by hand late in the first quarter resulting in a hamstring injury.
It was captured on TV.
What are the bets that the AFL takes no action because Lenny Hayes was guilty of wearing a St Kilda jumper.

Could be worse. Could have been Adam Goodes tripping him then Lenny would have got weeks

I think 99% of StKilda supporters are asking the same question.

The 1% makes way for those that really don't care.

Great win though.....great win.

Did they say how serious it is ?
How many weeks ?

In the first qtr he was absolutely unstoppable.
16 possessions in the first quarter.
As good an individual quarter as you will see.

Agree with plugger here. Absolutely nothing in it.

Warnock however should have a fortnight off. It didn't look too bad from the front, but from the back angle it clearly showed that he made significant deliberate high contact well after Ball had taken the mark.

Ok....didn't notice that but have watched a passage of play where it appears Lenny twanged his leg as plugger spoke about.

and Warnock....in a bind, young bloke....couldn't pull out, had to make a statement......stiff bikkies, I hope he pays a decent penalty from tribunal.

form the vision i saw, he was looking good until he tried to run off and the Freo bloke had hold of his ankle, causing him to stretch unnaturally

looked like he did it there

Whether or not the action resulted in the injury, the trip itself was there.. Needs to be cited for no reason other than the 'spirit of the game'.

PEACE

I thought the umpiring was poor but didnt favour either side but helped both sides with frees that eventually caused shots for goal that I really couldnt see. And yes I do love AFL football and me saying IMO it isnt a trip doesnt in this case make me an AFL apologist as who knows they may site it but again IMO if anyone is sited for that well what has become of this game.

Is that all fair enough or have I in this case stuck up for the AFL again.

You always stick up for the AFL so it is a pointless, ridiculous question by you.

And BTW, you can still love AFL Football if you dare to criticize the authorities.
You don't have to be a sycophant to be seen as a 'true lover of the game'.
Just my opinion of course.

Watched it again and tend to agree that he did the hammy when he went to take off and was held.

No I ignored your answer and made a general observation of what I have deduced from your posts on anything to do with the AFL oer the past few months.
