IF this is correct,at least I will say RL has balls,or maybe making a statement as others have implied he had to do.But NDS That is a BIG BIG statement.will be interested in team harmondy, and how he performs at scorps, big gate takings that game?

big big call...he has looked okay but this could either go one of two ways

he comes back better

or he asks for a trade....

Maybe RL read the forum postings from a couple weeks back when half the forum wanted NDS's arse in a sling? Must admit, he'll be a difficult player to replace, but (except for a handful of moments this season) has been a standout slacker, only because everyone knows what he's capable of. How did he go last week against Sydney? Couple goals?

After the last couple of games, I wouldn't at all have been surprised if the whole midfield got dropped!! A real sub-standard effort all round.

yep, i think that does it for me too.

If Dal is chopped, yet Gram, Milne, Blake, Scnieder, Monty etc keep their spots then I am well and truly jumping on the "I'd prefer the Tim Watson style of management" bandwagon

ST KILDA onballer Nick Dal Santo looks like becoming a high-profile casualty of his side's struggles, being dropped for Friday's match.

After the Saints' loss to Sydney last weekend, coach Ross Lyon promised that he would give younger players the chance to make good in place of struggling veterans.

The silky-skilled midfielder has played 114 matches in a row and was the Saints' leading vote-getter in last year's Brownlow Medal count.

However, it looks like he may be the first victim of Lyon's desire to shake up the team. Dal Santo collected just 17 touches against the Swans, at just 59 per cent efficiency.

St Kilda has lost four of its past five matches and a loss to Fremantle tomorrow night could signal the end of its finals hopes.

The Saints have already confirmed ruckman
Ben McEvoy will debut tomorrow night. He will become only the ninth player in AFL history to play in the same team as another player - in this case Robert Harvey - that was playing AFL before he was born.

monty getting shoved back to the back pocket surely would make him a higher candidate for getting dropped

make dal an emergency and replace someone in the team to give him a wake up call

If this was to be done it should have done 5 weeks ago. His last 4-5 games has been his best for the year. I actually reckon it is stupid dropping guys who are still playing like they are in our best 6-8 players because the coach thinks he should be in our best 2-3 players.

Who would rather Dal in the side or Birss. Grammy has found form again because he kept with him. Dal was close to finding his best form and we drop him.

Very serious. He will come back better than ever. Mark my words. Best thing Ross has done in his recent tenure.

its an effing joke that jason blake will still line up

he literally adds nothing to the team...he might get the ball inside 50 after he runs off his forward opponent but he will miss the goal right on cue

ah tomorrow night at the dome is going to be an interesting one

trust me for picking that game to head on down

Hey mate, you should have driven 8 hours to see the Round 3 Bulldogs match, like me (sucker)! Dal was terrible during that match...he hasn't changed too much lately.

Half these guys wanted him dropped a little while back...why's it a surprise now?

I have called for him to be dropped in the past, but he's actually lifted his game in recent weeks...i think.

Might have something to do with Dal Santo prouncing around like a pony when the opposition have the ball, i have watched him closely this year and he just refuses to pick up an opponent. Anyone can lay a tackle when it is a contested ball situation and he has improved in this but he simply does not work hard enough when the opposition has the ball. Having said that surely Milne must go before him as he also refuses to pick anyone up and goes to ground too easily. Dal Sannrto should have been dropped a montyh ago rather than now.

Armitage also has the same issue fantastic at getting the football and tackling in close but also refuses to pick up a man.

Jason Blake cops it on this site as does Birss but at least you knopw that when they leave the ground they have done everything they could to help the team win.

We have a half decent list but teams loke Collingwood who i believe have less ability are prepared to work harder when they don't have3 the football.

Alan Jeans is right when he says football is an easy game we have the ball they have the ball and the ball is in dispute, Dal Sanrto at the moment is only a champ when he has the ball is barely acceptable when it is in dispute prior to the last month and terrible when they have it.

I love watching Dal but he should be the player Gary Ablett now is he just needs to get the same work ethic, Baker used to stitch up Ablett as he never used to work ahrd enough.

Next time we play take the opportunity top watch Dal Santoos workrate off of the ball as opossed to Hayes and Ball who bust their backside to get to the opposition player.

I applaud Ross Lyon if he has been dropped it is avbout thime the team was given a severe wake up call about what is an acceptab le level of effort.

A champion team will always beat a team of champions.
