Kane Murphy at 15/16 is one of the best in the country for his age, could've been a father/son at Sydney but they didn't offer him a scholarship so we pounced.
One of the others is a junior volleyball champ and another a 208cm basketballer.
Recently got a 189cm 16 yo who impressed at under 16 championships.

ADELAIDE have signed young talent Aaron Duncan through the AFL’s New South Wales Scholarship program.
The 177cm, 15-year-old from the Pennant Hills Football Club joins the Crows having won the north Sydney zone’s under 14 division one best and fairest award last year and has represented Sydney in the state schoolboys competition.
Duncan also has a 16-year-old brother Joshua who is already listed with St Kilda through the AFL scholarship program.

Now added to the list, didn't have enough time the other day.
Very interesting person to search about, obviously has some serious talent at basketball. At only 17 and already 208cm (imagine if he has a Luke McPharlin like growth spurt at 20/21) and obviously with good co-ordination and mobility he could be the most exciting player we have coming through.
Some quick results on the boys for this year.

Just checked out some of the NSW/ACT results from the championships so far and Josh Duncan seems to have been omitted for the latest match against NT. Hasn't been sighted in goals or bests, has anyone seen him play this year? Any chance of him and Blake McGrath being picked up at the end of this year?

Josh Duncan is not eligible to be picked up this year. He had a good under 16 series last year so has another year in the under 18's. On afl.com.au they have had recruiters and Jason McCartney reporting on the better players and the Geelong recuriter mentioned Josh as a better player in one of the early games, his comment was that he runs hard and had 5 inside fiftys.
Shocked to here that he has been omitted as he was on the team listing that i saw. Also i do not believe that they are playing the NT as they did not make it through to the Divison 1 play offs.

It is even better than that.bigmicka wrote:we give the kids 10k-20k they go into a training program and we can then have first dibs on them in the draft. Even ahead of father son.

Dasically with the NSW rookies we have the "rights' on them.
We can decide:
* to not proceed with them (in which case another club can look at them)
* to elevate them to our rookie list (as with Khan who was a NSW Rookie)
* or to take them with a draft pick. Importantly we can use our last pick.... So the potential is there to get a player for less than his "pick worth"...provide we get our early call right and develop the kid well.

Border no barrier for AFL hopefuls

OOH AAH, Blake McGrath. Perhaps that will be a catchcry for the St Kilda cheer squad in two or three years. McGrath, 17, was one of three boys from north of the border who visited Saints headquarters in Moorabbin yesterday as the club's most recent signings from its New South Wales Scholarship program. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
