Where is Aaron Hammil?
Sorry if this is obvious to everyone in Melbourne but I just read his name being touted as a forward coach in another thread and thought that it was a good idea. What other work commitments in footy does he have these days?
We should employ him as our tackling and intimidation coach.

yeah i wonder what he is doing now its all over.
is he at the games, in the rooms?
they should be keeping this guy on the books and basically do what Cairnsman said above.
teach these guys a bit of mongrel i reckon.
well (with a few exceptions of certain players) we are kinda softies.
in fact the amount of cash he was rumoured to be on in the last couple of years he should be down at the club for friggin free giving out advice and teaching.

And also a partner with Harves in the retail outlet in Frankston.SENsaintsational wrote:Sarcastic bloke aren't you plugger?
For the record, Aaron was not sacked. And also for the record, Aaron currently is a business partner of Shane Warne's as well as doing special comments on radio. Triple M I think.
No, GT was sacked. Aaron was not.plugger66 wrote:Well he wasnt sacked but neither was GT.SENsaintsational wrote:Sarcastic bloke aren't you plugger?

They were both sacked but both said they came to an agreement. Go and ask Sammy if he wanted to leave. Surely if the answer is no then you are sacked whatever way you look at it.SENsaintsational wrote:No, GT was sacked. Quite correct. He didn't want to leave but he could no longer play. If he could play, he'd still be there. He couldn't so he's gone. Doesn't mean he was sacked, he just could no longer fulfill his end of the bargain.plugger66 wrote:They were both sacked but both said they came to an agreement. And I saw Sammy at the Dome a few weeks ago in the press area. Told me he was very happy in retirement.
Pretty much answers your assertion I think.

However you fail to mention that he wanted to continue this year but StKilda didnt want him to as they needed room on the salary cap. If that isnt sacked it is forced retirement.SENsaintsational wrote:Quite correct. He didn't want to leave but he could no longer play. If he could play, he'd still be there. He couldn't so he's gone. he was sacked wasn't he??? well politely shoved out the door as his knee was goneBatnoe wrote:Why would they sack Hamill?
he had 3 years to go on his contract that we are paying out anyway
at least they could do was keep him at the club and let him be a coach while being paid as a player... He retired as his knee was too bad
if he was still around i doubt we would be in such a pickle as what we are in now...
"It's a work in progress," Lyon said.

May also be involved in personal training??SENsaintsational wrote: And also for the record, Aaron currently is a business partner of Shane Warne's as well as doing special comments on radio. Triple M I think.
There's an ongoing joke with the Triple M commentary team about Aaron "pumping iron" with Jeff Gieschen but haven't got to the bottom of whether it's true or not.
