Also reported however, he had concerns about playing but doctors told him he was ok. Result? Operation and at least a month out. Amateur hour at moorabbin returns! Or is that continues?

Well at least the new fitness team seems to be working. X in his first game back does his hammy again and Bakes is told to play when he didnt want to. How can we blame GT for this one.

Bakes aggravated his knee going out with GT's daughter.

Shoulder surgery for Saint
Sam Edmund | June 11, 2008 12:00am
STEVEN Baker will undergo surgery on his shoulder today in the latest setback to plague the St Kilda tagger. Baker suffered the shoulder injury during his comeback game for Casey Scorpions in the 39-point win against Geelong in the VFL at Casey Fields on Sunday. >>>>>>>>>>>>>

A long way from his knee- although not as far as some..... but will they be checking the knee as well??????

or is this new Sam very wrong.

Well as far as I'm concerned that's about curtains for Baker, and perhaps X as well.

Let's just see what the big cleanout brings at the end of season....

Doubt it for both X maybe traded thou, Baker is exactly what we need in the team at the moment hardness and commitment.

X is only contracted for this season so for us to be in a position to trade him we will have to re-sign him to a further contract. Otherwise all we could do is delist him.

Can still be traded without a contract, but he would have to agree.

Or can choose to put himself in teh Draft as an uncontracted player and make his own deal with a Club - leaving us with nothing.

At his best, Baker's a top line tagger and semi midfielder.

He gets injured...
Remains injured and injury prone

Becomes slower... can't play on fast, small forwards

Loses fitness

Loses the ability to hurt opposition as a midfielder

His tagging declines by 10% every year as he gets older

Most probably outcome

.................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

Baker becomes a slow injury prone tagger who's sole purpose in the team becomes to negate second rate midfielders as he can no longer keep up with the elite.

If his opponent gets on top of him... he will become a complete liability and he'll do a Jason Blake on us (keep a spot from a developing player and never actually get any better)

this is his first year of injury....he has had a bad run over the first half of this year due to suspension and injury

since when has he been injury prone...there is no correlation between knee's and shoulder's....how can that be injury prone???its not even close to similar parts of the body

so he is injury prone how???

maybe i'm confusing his periods of suspension with injury but it seems to me that he's been in and out of the team with odd niggles for the last season and a half...

not true?
