As a Recruitment Manager I try not to be swayed by those things. No I definitely am not influenced by those sort of things. However, I do like people to be relaxed at interviews and will discuss football and the like to create a less formal environment.

I applied for a position in a government department in 2000 and listed in my interests was the usual blah blah and " enduring the trials and tribulations of the Saints" and one of the panel members was a Kangaroos supporter who picked felt I possessed a sense of humour and the ability to deal with most things. So it can work for you being a Saints supporter.
I actually got a job by doing it. Turns out the CEO was a mad saints fan as well as one of the other managers.
They read my resume and I basically had the job before I turned up to the interview.
Had my interview today 2 throwing questions at me for over 1 hour the first thing they said was....so your a saints supporter!!!!!!! talk about the best ice breaker made me relax big time and then they told me that they both barrack for the pies!!!!!!!!! All I could say was Oh dear , towards then end they asked me for my strengths and I said one of them is loyalty!!!!
find out next week if I get the job!!!!
