Classy Forwards
We really lack a classy forward or two to help out the tall targets down there. Obviously we have 2 crumbers down there but with our midfield not wanting to get numbers up forward for fear of being ezploited for pace running backwards, we could do with a medium sized player or two able to crumb goals and act as a target. These players don't grow on trees though so we will have to look hard to draft players who have the potential for this role. How nice would it be to have some forward pressure and bodies over the ball when we go forward!

I didn't see any today.
Or most of the season for that matter.
In fact the main characteristic of our forward line is that after our midfield blaze it in with errant unmarkable bombs to no-one, we have absolutely friggin no-one to crumb.
It then becomes a simple exercise for our opponents to gather and run the ball out WITHOUT BEING CHALLENGED.
Our crumbers are MIA week after week.
This lack of forward pressure started with Hamill's demise and is only getting worse !
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

i have thought this for a while.
Lack of mid-size forwards is what's killing us. Unfortunately, i dont think ferg is up to it, and we know Fiora is simply useless, and charlie gardiner offers little also.
I think gilbo could be developed into a forward flanker, and maybe X? We are too one-dimensional. Playing a fast-paced running side like the dogs, big key forwards often have little impact. It's games like todays that expose our lack of forward options.

The midfielders kick it to him with 2 x 6.4's+ standing point guard???????StSteven wrote:If you think Milne is an effective small forward compare him to the Cats Steve Johnson and Stokes.
