For all of you using Kosi as our scapegoat..
change teams cos we don't need you.
Kosi is one of few players in our side that actually has what the rest of the pasengers don't and that is heart.
A power forward needs time to stabilise, and learn to play forward, and apart from the obvious injuries, kosi is the one player in our side that has never had stability. This is because as soon as there is an injury, kosi fills the hole.
He has shown he has the ability, its the lack of support around him that is the issue. Our apparent forward line is a joke and its not riewoldt or kosi that is to blame. It's never your stars, its your front-runners. No use in schneider kicking 5 against melbourne if you aren't gonna back up your perfomance against a side that matters.
With the kicking to forwards as pathetic as it was today, exactly what do you want from him? He busts his guts till the end, never drops his head, and actually displays a bit of emotion.
I noticed in one thread someone referred to him and his injuries as comical. Next time you hyper-extend your knee and then come back on and continue to give your all, then you can have an opinion. Until then, pipe down.
It's not a matter of opinion. Anyone that thinks we should trade kosi is downright wrong.
What a load of crap.
If we believed in your constant misty eyed, rose colored glass view of St.Kilda, one would think we're on top of the ladder with no care or worry in the world.
FFS Get real.
We are in a lot of trouble. Kosi is only a shadow of himself. So's Roo. Bally can't kick over a jam tin, and Lenny had a shocker today.
When your 'stars' aren't reforming there must be something wrong.
Personally, I'm not in favour of delisting Kosi at the moment, and he needs to be shown some faith.
However, the standard he has shown this year is just not good enough from a supposed star. Can't use injuries as an excuse any more.
rose coloured glasses???? definitely disposed of them about 10 years ago.
agreed we are in a load of trouble. reason? we have around 10 players contributing every week, no need to name them, you can guess who they are, and then the rest are passengers, relying on the usuals to do the work.
Without 22 contributing players every single week, we will never be anything. You're only as strong as your weakest link, and unfortunately for us, our weakest links are dismal.
If all 22 players applied themselves as much as kosi did, then we'd be a top side.

This is a good thread. Personally I think nobody can have a real shot at any player because I doubt we could do better ourselves.
A true king doesn't glass his girlfriend.
A true king doesn't smear his blood on an opponent when he cannot break a tag.
A true king does not label umpires disgraceful.
A true king is Robert Harvey.

I think he meant the delivery of the actual football....not luke ball...SaintWal wrote:
Kosi is not the problem. He gives his all. Good post Steph. Ball delivery from downfield is, however, just a wee bit of a problem at the minute.
Ball is not the problem, mate. Have a good look at Kosi ..what does he give us?
In a well drilled, all contributing side, Kosi would be a premium forward of the comp. However, with too many leigh fighers, fergusons, schneiders etc running around, Kosi (and roo) is left to do it on his own in a clogged forward line with what could only be described as disgraceful delivery.

Luke Ball wasn't metioned. Ball delivery (the way the football is delivered) was.Behind Play wrote:Ball is not the problem, mate. St Kilda's 2 premiership captains are Tassie born. The Doc & Roo.

I'm sorry, but Kosi is virtually useless at the moment.
He is slow, unaware of what is happening around him, inaccurate and lazy.
The only value he has for St Kilda Football Club is as trade bait.
If we can get a first round selection for him we should take it. He will never be any good at this club.

Old enough to repaint, but young enough to sell
you cannot compare the 2. i have always been a big fan of frase, but this year his body just wasn't up to it. the tackle that kos layed in the dying minutes is something gehrig just can't do these days. Also took two strong marks in defence when he was playing in the ruck. Unfortunately, G's days are over.Yeh but its okay to use Frase as an escape goat..... Kosi should get droped, Kosi is playing worse then fraser but yet fraser got droped n kosi dosent??

No use laying tackles when the game is over. Where is he when the pressure is on.steph wrote:you cannot compare the 2. i have always been a big fan of frase, but this year his body just wasn't up to it. the tackle that kos layed in the dying minutes is something gehrig just can't do these days. Honestly, if we can get something for him next year I would trade him.

when the pressure is on he's out their busting his guts, presenting and running up the ground far too much than he should be, actually having a go. Of course I would love to see more from him, but suggesting he is a frontrunner or a passenger is just unfair.

kosi could be anything, there was a time where i thought he would become top 5 in the comp, but at the moment he is nothing of the sort. he has a had a tough time with injury, and i think it has stalled his development from potential star, to what could have been a premier player in the comp.
there is still time for things to change, and i still have faith.
one thing i will say is that unlike some of his team mates, kosi is st.kilda through and through and he loves this club and fights for the jumper.

He was number 2 pick.
He's had 7 years, to mature.
You mentioned that our FF and CHF are not to blame, we are the 2nd or 3rd lowest scoring team in the competition, these two guys ARE to blame.
Half way through the season, and our FF has kicked 19 goals.
Half way through the season, and our CHF has kicked 20 goals.
Our crumber, has actually kicked more goals then both of them...and we're not meant to use them as a scapegoat?
If they're not to blame, then who is?
The delivery to our forwards this year, and more than ever today, has been atrocious. I think BJ and Harvey are the only players in the side that understand the concept of kicking the ball to the space and to your team-mates advantage.
Agreed our crumbers have done well, but if it wasn't for Kosi's attack on the packs last week, Schneider would only have got about 2.
I'm not saying Kosi is playing excellent football. He has massive room for improvement, as does Roo. My issues is people who think the answer is trading Kosi. Lets get rid of the duds first, before we start cutting the heart and soul of the side.
