No Change...one would think???
It is not often that the Saints have No Change for a team selection.
But one would think it is likely this week.....unless there is an injury that we do not know about.
*No bad players at all last week.
*No Saints played for Casey of the VFL to press their claim for inclusion
*Bakes on the training track was heavilay bandaged and not looking too fit...according to training watchers. Plus he lacks match practice.

take that with a grain of salt....often is misleading and plain wrong.borderbarry wrote:Xavier is shown on the injury list as having One Week. Wont be playing anywhere this week.
X has had many weeks to get over his hammy, and we could deserperately use his run.
Without X we are a very very slim chance of winning, with him we are a slight chance!
i am Melbourne Skies - sometimes Blue Skies, Grey Skies, even Partly Cloudy Skies.
would expect no outs and ins mini, mcenvoy and x on an extended bench
Would like to see x in there but for who?

I would have thought that Blake would be needed to play on Minson (and Hudson when they swap)?Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:out blake

If not, we are missing a 'tall' down back.

Not much, but Blake would be a better defender on Minson than Rix, I would have thought?Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:how often is minson in the ruck???
obviously hudson plays the majority of the time but how much???
rix as a possible match up on minson???
Max to take Johnson
Fisher to take Welsh
Blake to take Minson

Last time the Saints played the Dogs the HO stats were.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:how often is minson in the ruck???

Minson 19
Hudson 9
Cross 2 (third man up??)
King 19
Kosi
Blake 3
Roo 1
So even though I do not know how long Minson spent in the ruck, his HO stats would suggesta fair bit for that game.
I also had a look at the HO stats of Minosn and Huson for the year....it is up and down a lot as to who wins the most HO's...so that may indicate that Raed mixes them around a bit.

With Goose out all year, Blake must stay in and play CHB. Defensively he is a good option and will allow Chippa to run off half back without having to think about shutting down a gun CHF.Saints Premiers 2008 wrote:out blake

I would imagine that Blake would stay in at least until Gilbert returns.
Blake's form as a defender has been quite reasonable....and importantly his spoling has improved. He probably is the second best spoiler in derfence behind Max.

The reports on Baker would certainly suggest he is at least another week away.
Xavier hasn't had much talk this week however the official list says another week.
No players played badly enough to warrant a spell at Casey so an unchanged lineup would suit nicely.
McEvoy, McQualter and C.Gardiner/Gwilt on the extended bench.
Will be interesting to see how Baker and co. go this week however the likely return dates would be:
X.Clarke - Round 12
S.Baker - Round 13
S.Gilbert - Round 15
Hopefully its a matter of squeezing players out rather than injuries/extreme poor form.
