Brendon Goddard

Post: # 580226Post |Andy| »

What a gun!! in the team of the week thing. this is what it says.
Brendon Goddard (St Kilda) - Completing the hat-trick for the Saints in defence is Goddard, who produced his best effort since returning from a knee injury. He was super efficient with his 28 disposals - at 96 percent - and also laid six tackles.
but look at that!! 96% kicking efficiency, with 28 disposal...is that like his best game ever??

Pretty sure he's had a few games with 100% efficiency.

we actually have FOUR saints in the team of the week- we must have played ok :)

Sam Fisher (St Kilda) - Dominant out of back half, setting up plenty of St Kilda forward thrusts as well as capitalising on Melbourne turnovers, Fisher set the tone in the opening term with 10 of his 27 disposals.
( second time for Sam this year?)
Jason Gram (St Kilda) - Combined brilliantly with Fisher in the opening quarter to help set up St Kilda's comprehensive win over Melbourne. He gained 12 of his 27 touches in the first quarter and by the game's end had chalked up his best performance so far in '08.
( second time for Grammy too?)
Luke Ball (St Kilda) - Among his finest efforts in the red, black and white, Ball was super in the midfield, winning a game-high 29 disposals, nine clearances, 10 tackles and seven free kicks. It was a great reward for the courageous Saint.

and BJ as stated above.

Its been amazing how quickly he's been able to find good form after returning from the knee injury.

I don't think so. He'll make the half back position his own for the next 8-9 years.

In the future I can envisage him as a Buckley type of mid.
Cannot wait.

is a gun and will be our best player in a year or two.... his kicking is one of the best in the league without a doubt... would not be at 100% and when he gets a bit more toe back and gets rid of all rust will explode...

As long as he's hitting people on the chest from 60 metres, it's all good either way. I'd like him a bit further forward, though. I was awestruck the first time I kept track of how often we score when a skilled player has an inside 50 compared to when an unskilled player does it.

Would be alarmingly good right now if not for going down with the knee. Will take a while, but he will back to full force soon im sure.

Ducks his head when he (attempts) to mark overhead. But, he actually took ONE last week, which is a step forward.

Are you deliberately offensive, or is it just pure natural talent? What a load of bollocks ... BJ doesn't lack courage at all. He's taken many overhead marks over the years, many in pack situations.

Yes he should.

We need Bakes back...and Goose would be handy also.

BJ's delivery is as good as it gets in the comp.

As valueable as he is off a half back, if he was in the guts, roo might actually not have to dive for a mark inside fifty.

Our delivery inside fifty is pathetic atm....

Played all his junior football in the center , has been qouted several times that he would love to play in the midfield, previuosly lacked a bit of endurance, I'd like to see him get a run in the center when we get Gilbo back.

Half forward flank i would like to see him, with a bit of freedom to move between half back and half forwar. That penetrating kick is very explosive and direct.

8-)

I think BJ is just about to hit his straps again..

He was just starting to really dominate when his knee cut him down.

I remember early on Lyon talking about BJ and he described him as our point of difference....and he was discussing his long accurate kicking.

Always thought BJ and Kosi would be our two best players.
The two players that are almost impossible for oppositions to match-up on.

Least I was half right.
