Are we too PREDICTABLE !!

Post: # 576196Post Eastern »

Other sides allow Lenny, Bally & Harvs to gather plenty of footy because they are gunna get it anyway. Instead of tagging these guys they tag Joey, Dal and Grammy instead. This eliminates their outside run and ensures that the quality of ball going into our forward line is ordinary at best. We need another 2-3 guys to really stand up in the midfield with at least one of these having real pace.

Xavier Clarke was pretty good until he got injured. Armitage has been tried a bit but there must be a problem that we don't know of. By all reports, Jack Steven is going to be a beauty but will take time. We really need to identify a big bodied mongerol midfielder and another midfielder/half forward who is lightning quick in this years draft

Having Goose go down has also made our back 1/2 too predictable too. Max & Fish are required to take the 2 main forwards each week eliminating much of our run out of defence (especially from fish). We also need to draft a quality defender this year. Am I being too greedy here !!

Yep!

We can't get the ball in the forward 50 enough.

And when we do we can't kick.

Good post Eastern I agree.

We have limited options for run and carry and less for good foot skills - its why the Lions sat on Goddard so much...

X definately adds that to the midfield he CAN at least break a line....if only Jones could kick.........

That combined with poor delivery going fwd, NO defensive pressure in fwd 50 and lousy conversion is killing us.

Or our fwds don't want to kick the goals they're paid to. How often have we seen Roo and Kosi in the last few weeks, or even Charlie Gardiner, look to pass the ball off when they're lining up for a shot on goal within 40m. You wouldn't see Lloyd, Fevola, Brown, Bradshaw, N Thompson, Q Lynch, even bloody Kurt Tippett, doing that.

These players want the ball. They want to kick goals. They know they can/should and back themselves in. I'd rather see our blokes back themselves and miss as opposed to trying to find another target in a slightly better position, with the added risk of another turnover! FFS!
